It's shit. Glad not all southern music is like that, but that's what tends to be the focus of southern music, shit. Work harder my ass. and who brags about being better at hustling? when the south falls off, will you be saying that? It's just the south's turn to shine.
smh TBH with you ,a lot of you guys NY/east coast niggas sound like the white people in the 70's/80's who hated rap music and said it was garbage . When hip hop started it was you who was dancing , not us . Just because NY is wack now stop hating. The west coast has not been relevant for 14 years .Sit down
Born and raised. All day, every day. So what are you talking about? Just like a new rap fan. Calling somebody a hater because they don't like somebody's shit. They throw that word around like a fuckin' Frisbee.
First things first Carter pay homage NY is where it all started. If it was for NY there would be no hip hop. If you look on anyones top five there's at least two NY rappers you can't say that about the south. No is hating I admited that the south has it right now but its because of catch hooks and hot beats. You're lyrical content is straight garagbe. Name one southern rapper who could hold there own against Jadakiss, Nas, BIG, Jay, Styles P, Cannibus, LL, Mobb Deep, any member of Wu Tang Clan. Are you kidding me Carter NY is hip hop.
. I aint denying that. We don't care about being top anything .The south runs hip hop NOW hot beats- better workrate -*pumping 5 mixtaps in 4 months , while you guys battle rap LOL* Andre 3000. Funny thing is even the GOAT makeveli da don , knew yall niggas was haters and dissed yall
real talk I didn't even know that people still bought mixtapes lol. Like I said you guys got it sales wise but you have a long way to go for respect especially when you're hottest rappers are Woca Floca and Soulja Boy who btw make mostly rap tracks. That Tupac dig was a low blow lol
LOL Im sorry my nigga. This is how I see it ,guys like Waka Flocka flame , gucci etc are needed in the club. Trust ,nobodies gunna be dancing when "Shook Ones"drops. Of course NY will always be Hip hop , but don't blame us for falling , blame the NY radio station , blame the playa hating inside the NY rap industry and blame guys like Jay-z who aint tryna put on any new NY talent . The hottest rappers in the south are T.I and Wayne
Flooding the market with mixtapes with the same mediocre content doesn't equal talent. And since when is battle rapping a bad thing. If anything, it inspires more creativity than what rappers spit on mixtape. Whatever. I give credit that those mixtape rappers are putting in major work, but putting in work isn't synonymous with great music. Appeal to the mass market, and your chances of success go up. that's it. I'll give credit to the producers, more than the rappers, because some of those beats are pretty sick, while the rappers talk about the same ol' shit that was being done in 1992. The focus is more on bricks, drank, and blunts, than on shooting people.
Real talk though LA has produced much better and prolific rappers like Pac who you mentioned earlier Dr. Dre, Snoop, Game, Ice Cube. I admit that TI and Weezy are hot but ten years from now people arent going to remember them like dudes from the West and the East.
Never said that. LA played out gangsta rap in 1994. Everybody from every coast is still trying to copy what Ice Cube and company did 23 years ago, back when that shit was original. From lyrical content, to even the beats. The south was heavy on emulating the west coast G-Funk sound in the 90s. It was good though, because they added their own style, like the Bay did with Mobb music. 1989: "Dopeman, please can I have another hit?" 2010: "I got keys, bricks, pounds." Been done before, and done much better, might I add.
