Ebonics is not a language. It's just slang. It's not something to legitimize because people that use it all the time are developing a bad habit in continuing to use expressions that should have died off in high school. A lot of people use it in high school because they think it's cool, "gucci", "swag" or whatever. The problem is when you forget the correct way to speak - either because you don't have friends and family to remind you of "reality" or because you haven't engaged yourself in a professional manner enough times to extinguish bad habits. People grow out+of+it+when+they+leave+high+school+-+so+it's+no+big+deal...
Uhhh dear God no. Ebonics is slang and sounds dumb. "For shizzle my nizzle!" Yeah that should be an offical language. smh at some of the folks on here
God help us all if our doctors and lawyers start talking like Gucci Mane.:smt042 Also, I bet females would love it if their gynecologist talked like the Ying Yang Twins lol. "Yur pussy be lookin clean girrl!!" Yeah, that would go over well.
You are all missing the point!!!Jeez...I know Ebonics wouldnt be a great language.I only want classified so you have greater control of when it can be spoken.
No, we're not!!! Face it, your point is far-fetched, ridiculous to most, and no one agrees with it! End of story.
Classifying it as a language is completely pointless, because a teacher can just as easily control a real language as they can a fake one. It's language! It's not something easy to control in the first place. Sheesh! Thickheaded than a mug, huh?
Ebonics is something you grow out of when you leave high school. It's just a part of the culture of youth. Every generation of high school students coins its own flavor. When you leave high school and start interacting with adults and professionals, you outgrow it. It's no big deal...
Wow. I actually meant to type "hardheaded" but regardless, now you're just being childish. And no, I'm not ugly nor am I a redhead. Wrong yet again.
If only it were *that* easy, m8..... There *are* some segments of the population that *refuse* to jettison said vernacular....even well into their adult years... ...just for the sake of keeping it "real".. Sad, but true. OpinionsCartoonStudios@Yahoo.Co.UK
