well lets ask this why BM love WW

Um, pack your suitcase with your favorite jammies and mom's pic in a frame cause you ain't coming home if you go.

WOW!

I loved this. Respect, admiration and still proud to be who you are. We need more of this.

In the Northeast. Tri-State area. Wondering why you called Australia a racist country. Are you referring to its Aborigine history, or its current state?

I assume it is the White Australia policy that intentionally restricted "non-white" immigration to Australia from 1901 to 1973. Australian government policy from earlier years has been claimed to be the original impetus for the apartheid system in South Africa. Of course that is the past just as our segregation or apartheid system is the past but, attitudes die hard here and people assume the same about Australia.

I think there is racism in every country but I know I spend some time in Perth, Darwin, and Sydney...

....I had probably the most fun in Darwin, and I don't know if Australians are racist or not but I know THEY LOVE BRUTHAZ! I got some stoooooories woo.

Dog....scrape up the pennies and go there. You won't be disappointed.

It's true!

You know, I've been thinking on this some lately. I was thinking how the Aboriginal people I know completely idolize black Americans, which I imagine stems from feeling a kinship of sorts.. and the more I thought about it, I came to the conclusion that Australians in general really idolize black Americans. Which is why I guess I get so confused/shocked about talk of black/white relations in America being so poor, because I'm so used to black American people being viewed in such a positive light...

LOL, Definitely Australia. Brothers are treated very well there by the women.

I meant modern Australia. I read as recently as the 1990s black people were refered to as niggers in parliment. But I have to say you Whikle and Tarshi have me sold on going there. How's the climate during january february or March. I might treat myself for my bday.

I guess Im confused but hopeful . I want to know really how australia really love black men see the following report:

You'd likely find that more racism exists towards Aboriginal Australians than to black people in general (and that racism is largely founded in ignorance as many white Australians don't even know any Aboriginal people...)... But even so, it feels like that racism is more covert and not really experienced on a daily basis. And still in no way more widespread or overt than in America.

I really think people get the wrong end of the stick about Aussies! But for sure, come here and experience it for yourself. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised :)

:smt102 What can I say. Other than you shouldn't base your opinion of a whole country on something like that. I still maintain (in my experience) that Australia is less racist towards black Americans than America appears to be.

Bottom line, you have to come here and decide for yourself!!

gorgeous, i've stated this time and time again & it appears to be falling on deaf ears. unless people who say that australia is a racist country actually come over here & experience it for themselves, they'll never know...!!!

Yeah, isn't it interesting how it's people who've never been here that bring up past policies etc and try and label us as an island full of bigots, but those who actually do come here go home with rave reviews!!

If I can get my boys to go I'm so down. Why not try it out

I enjoy a podcast from a guy called tariq nasheed and he is a big afrocentric person and on his podcast he talked about his experience in australia . he stated the following:

1) He was shocked at how very few black folks lived there but at the sametime how nice and welcoming the white folks were.

2) he saw how tuff the Aboriginal Australians had it.

3) He suggested black men to visit australia because it was cool.

i've never heard of him gl, but i would agree with all 3 points. i guess the native americans still get treated poorly as well from what i was told when over there the other month.

it is a podcast call macklessons.com . it is pretty cool. sometimes he goes off on a tangent about race issues that sounds divisive and then he does race issues that are very sympathetic towards whites. example he was going black women about where are the good black men statements. he was basically stating that "if blackwomen stop doing slick shit maybe they will committ to you. I dont blame brothers for dating white women because they are looking for a good relationship. so go where you can find happiness" he didnt say it word for word like that but that was his thang.

he speaks his mind so you have to take him with a grain of salt. he is not that inflammatory but he does at times make you think. he is however very entertaining. he gears himself more towards dating issues. he is very prob-black in his discussions about history and social and current events. so it is not all about how to get women. It is about 50/50

It is even way less racist in NZ than Australia. We are all so used to getting along that it's quite a culture shock when I visit North America and find it like that.An interracial couple would not even be glanced at here. Our rate of intermarriage is the highest in the world.

Hi Annabel we haven't had the pleasure of 'meeting' yet but, just want to say welcome. I have become a lover of the women 'down under' and since you are neighbors. I am sure we will become fans of one another as well.

Thankyou for that.I am already enjoying the stimulating comments here.We enjoy a friendly rivalry with Australia. We feel a little overshadowed by our big brother.
