55 years ago white folks were in an uproar over a black man just sitting near a hollywood starlet . . . now white folks are financing black men to have sex with white porn starlets.
Go figure.
see that often in the workforce, especially with non-union positions. Collective bargaining has demonstrated to be more effective for the whole, than solo attempts at getting things changed. One man is a simple loss. A dozen is a disaster.
with that said and done, i've heard situations where one of my coworkers attempted to rally the troops, and head to a director about something that was wrong with the job. when it came down to pushing the ball into the endzone, he found himself without the squad that egged him on, giving him empty promises of support. he still has his job, but they left his ass hanging in the wind, so that they could save face and keep their jobs.
pretty sad.
but when it comes to people, their families and money...well...![]()
I'm thankful that I'm in a position at the company I work for to be able to take care of the people who work under me. The owner is a jack ass, but for the most part he leaves me alone to do what I think is best. I think it's about balance. My employees know I won't take any crap, but they also know they can come to me with problems or ideas without it biting 'em in the ass.

Rick Perry must be paying him to give you all a hard time.
my favorite is the 'open door' policy.
you know, the policy that permits a manager to get upset, when you go into their office actually knowing what you are talking about.
which leads me to my next point...hypocrites
but not all managers are like that...I do know one who is polite and easy to talk to. she also manages to keep a sharp section, which is proof that you don't need to be evil and rude, to get the best out of your employees.
Sadly, I don't think my boss knows who Rick Perry is.
Too many managers let the position go to their heads & they tend to be on a power-trip. They seem to find competent people a threat & abuse their authority & treat their employees like shit. I believe that everyone has a contribution to make, so I appreciate input & feedback. It's easier to be an effective manager when you can focus on taking care of business rather than being a babysitter for grown folks. I'm blessed with pretty loyal employees & a lot of them have been working for me for years.

I've seen that happen during weekly pow-wows. We have a few people, that everyone knows will have some sort of objection, during the tenure of our 45-60minute sessions. Sometimes they're bullshit, and sometimes they're actually smart, when given a serious thought. One time, someone just kept pushing their point and the director just broke down and said 'look, i'm the boss, it doesn't matter.' I think this was concerning putting vacations on hold, due to the recession, injuries/illnesses, and the inability to take on new hires.
People were brainstorming on how to circumvent absolute rejection of vacations, and the boss just lost it. Guess he wasn't open to trying anything new.

goodlove, that is some of the most depressing, horrific shit I've ever read on WWBM!!!![]()
yeah that is not just on the job. when I was reporting my exwife on forging my name on a mortgage modification and getting notarized then she destroyed my credit....I reported to the police. they lied to my face saying they cant do anything just off of documentation. I reported him to his superior after 10 months of egging him. he finally arrested her and convicted her but they didnt go after the notary or even question her.
they would not go after her for the mail fraud. they lied to me about the thresholds of amount to go after someone on mail fraud. they tried to say it has to 250000 or more but I told them according to US Code 18 nadar versus us there is no threshold. then they flat out told me that Im a small fish so eat it. Now Im just going to have to sue. at first no atty wanted to deal with me until she got convicted. the bank thru me under the bus in the beginning so lets see what happens.
saying all that in conjunction with your story my apothegm is : a a fight for justice is a lonely war against unknown enemies.
I'm sorry to hear this. I hope everything works out for you...
