You are seriously lucky!! They do play dirty!! Yes, my Dad got a flu shot once and he ended up being so sick. He refuses to get another one, even though he's older and at high risk, he won't do it. Neither will my Mom. Yes, hand washing is the key! I can totally see how someone in your line of work, or teachers would be inclined to get the flu shot, but I'm not in a profession where it makes sense to get it, so I don't. LOL. That, to me, is wrong. Threatening people with termination if they don't get the flu shot? Wow. Last year, amidst all of the Swine Flu propaganda, er, I mean hullabaloo, I asked my daughter's pediatrician if he thought I should get her that flu shot. He said, he didn't recommend it, but if I really wanted to get her the flu shot, I should get her the regular flu shot. I thought that was interesting.
when you're working in a clinical setting, it's a bit different. flu shots became mandatory to prevent transmission from patient-staff and vice versa. like i said, that was the first time i ever got one. it became mandatory across the board. some people tried to fight based on private grounds, and got terminated. you could try to sue, but the hospital has a right to protect its patients.
I understand their reasoning, I just thought immediate termination is a bit extreme. They could start with a week's leave without pay or something and give people a chance to realize how serious it is before losing their jobs? I don't know. Like I said, I don't work in that environment. I just thought termination was a bit extreme without a middle step.
lol after countless system-wide emails, months before they were giving shots on the floor, there is no middle ground. after the vaccine block, if you didn't have one by then, you were shit out of luck. fucking check your inbox and bring it up beforehand
Has anybody else noticed that some people come on here just to post pics. They dont do anything else just lurk and post pics.
For real. It's like "c'mon, are you gonna actually post your thoughts on an issue or even just joke around the whole time." Only time I sign up for a site and not post is if I wanna leech albums.
If it is not about the fat white women and the desperate negros who are dating them then it is about the irresponsible erratic selfish black women, lol,,,, these fantastic threads never cease to amaze me or never seem to die, lol
My son is talking about wanting to move out soon. If I'm going to be living alone, I'm buying a gun for the house.
Two reasons: I don't feel safe in this redneck hell I live in & An old stalker of mine has shown up again recently & he knows where I live.
Just read a news story a few minutes ago about some burglars breaking into a house and pistol whipping the dude. His girlfriend grabbed the shotgun from under the bed and passed it to her boyfriend. One of the burglars got killed. Good thing they did have a gun on deck. Puyallup area homeowner shoots, kills intruder By KOMO-TV PUYALLUP -- An intruder was killed during a home-invasion robbery near here early Wednesday morning, and police are looking for a second attacker. · Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer said two masked men broke into the home about 6:30 a.m. and pistol-whipped a man who was home with his girlfriend. "(They) started demanding to know where the safe jewelry was," Troyer said. "There was a scuffle, the homeowner was pistol-whipped." The robbers stole jewelry and one of the masked men walked outside to load some things into his car, Troyer said. That's when the girlfriend of the man who was pistol- whipped got a shotgun from under a bed and handed it to her boyfriend. "And that's when the gun battle started," Troyer said. Troyer said the group fired several shots at each other, and one of the intruders was hit. He died in the driveway as he tried to get away, and investigators found some of the stolen jewelry next to his body. The other intruder ran off and remains at large. Investigators have cordoned off the home, which is between Tacoma and Puyallup in the 6100 block of 72nd Street East. The name of the man who was killed has not been released, and no description of the man being sought was available. Troyer said detectives are also looking for a third man who lives in the house but was not home at the time of the robbery. Detectives are still investigating the scene, but say they don't believe it was a random crime.
If I don't protect myself, ain't nobody else gonna do it! Stuff like that is scary. Sounds like their roomate is a piece of shit who set 'em up.
good lord. i don't think i'd feel safer with a gun in the house though...guns scare the bejesus out of me
Foshizle, I am right there with ya, you come uninvited to the door then "Say Hello to my little friend" LoL
I'm not super crazy about guns, but I respect 'em & know how to use 'em. I'd never have one with my son in the house; I don't care how old he is. But if I'm living here alone, I'll feel safer having one handy if I need to use it.
whilst i complain about where i live, at least i feel safe. i couldn't imagine having to protect myself with something that could kill someone...kill or be killed makes me sick to my stomach
