Good for you Andrae! I hope she's a considerably better woman than what you've dealt with in the past. You aren't lame. That's sweet, and I understand that butterflies every time you see them, breathless at the sound of their voice feelings... it's nice. I wish you all the best.

Often the end of a marriage/relationship, although painful, is the best thing that can happen to a person. I write this from a position of experience - I am now in a better place physically & spiritually, than I ever was when with my former husband. I am sure he feels the same :)

That is so sweet! Good for you Andrae! :smt003

This is so true. I'm going through a rough time right now after ending things with my man, but I know that it was for the best. I know that it will be so much better when the pain finally fades.

I'm happy for you for getting to that better place. :D

I shouldn't jinx myself when I see everyone else getting sick, but me. Last Friday was rather uncomfortable for me and that's due to me getting symptoms of the cold due to weather transitioning. And here I thought I had a pretty strong immune system.

Well, luckily I took care of it before it really settled in my systems. Why was this day relatively significant? It's because I was suppose to have a dinner date with a friend (she's beautiful too), but work caught up with her, so instead, me and two other people went to a Greek owned restaurant (suspciously owned by Italians) and the waitress there (Italian :smt054:smt054) was VERY sweet. She actually blushed when I talked to her 90% of the time. So, the service was good, so we tipped her well.

I just started dating this girl and I want to get her a gift for xmas. Is an ipod too much for a person you've only been dating for a month or two?

    Short answer: YES!

Not in my opinion. I think whatever it is if it's heartfelt and you can afford it, give it. I should say a car or a house is something I might view as excessive, it would depend on the circumstances, but an iPod wouldn't be to me. I wouldn't worry about what other people think Andrae, just do what feels right to you. Not to mention it's a Christmas gift, it's not like it's an out of blue for no reason gift.

    Hell yea!

It will be interesting to see how the women answer against the men.

If it were a woman giving that gift to a man, would you feel the same? Same question to BBW.

I personally don't like gifts, it makes me uncomfortable to have people spend money on me, especially since I really don't need anything. However I give gifts and I typically choose something they really need, or something they want but wouldn't purchase for themselves for whatever reason, such as they cannot afford it. I give no thought to whether it is excessive or not by other people's standards. Thinking over the gifts I've given recently, using your 'the iPod is excessive' logic, they'd likely all be considered excessive. So I'm curious if that applies whether they were gifts to women or men?

This question is very easy. not only would I say the same thing but I know that generally a woman's salary is much lower than a man's salary so she probably won't be buying a more expensive gift than her b/f. Yes, I would tell her that because it is the thought that counts and not the expense. Two months is way to short to be spending so much money on a woman that could leave the third month. It would put him in a 100 or however much an ipod costs loss. too risky!!!!

I would still feel the same way, Espy. Two months is fairly too short to even consider buying someone a gift that extravagant. Sure, it's a great gesture, but in the back of my head, the gift, while possessing great meaning, may lose it's meaning as quickly knowing that this may go too quick into the dating scene.
