I lived in Denver for about 6 months and about the only thing I could find about the area that I didn't like was the dry air. I loved it there. Let's see, the NW suburbs of Chicago, what I dislike: Sales tax TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC They have been slowly lowering the speed limits and adding more lights (due to the population), so I feel like I'm in the city of Chicago half the time. Too many buildings, not enough open land and any open land has a For Sale sign on it. Ridiculous. Rent is ridiculously high. That's about it.
Yeah see my list of things I waste money on. Lotion. Before I live here I really didn't use lotion or hair conditioner but.........having grown up in Illinois..........summers without humidity.........is heaven.
I don't blame you. It's -29.8?C / -21.6?F or -41?C / -41.8?F with wind chill factor right now. That means, an exposed skin can freeze within a minute. I'm sure you know a bit about that though since you've lived in Sweden.
I do hate where I live. I stay because my old ass parents need me & my stupid younger brothers don't do shit to help them. I spent the majority of my life here, & I've never liked anything about it. There's nothing here...nowhere to go & nothing to do. Soooo boring. Even to go shopping, you have to leave town. Too many rednecks & good ol' boys & racists & illegal aliens & misc. assholes & a stalker. The "city" is run by idiots...they just put a friggin' electric pole in the middle of my front yard...I came home one day & there it was. The city council told me I was stuck with it unless I pull $4500 outta my ass & pay to have it removed & placed outside the property line (which is where they should've put it in the first place). There are NO men here. Too many nosy people all up in your business. Too many drugs. I love my parents, but I gotta get the hell outta here!
It's the suburbs so it's hella boring. Have to drive outside of town to have fun. Have to drive downtown to get to the good spots. Too many cops not doing shit. Dumbass people my age(but I guess every town has that problem). Only shit open at night is jack in the box, walmart and the grocery store. And I've just been living here way too long.
Yeah You Do!! You've said it more than once, time to live your life now that your son is out of the house. Make that move. Not to be rude or disrespectful to you or your folks or your brothers but if they don't all ready have their shit together they never will. Take care of Tammy before it's too late.
I'm working on it...I'm in the process now of sorting shit out & trying to figure out where I wanna go & what I wanna do. I'm tired of taking care of everybody else...it's my damn turn now.
You should buy stock in lotion. :-D Yes, the summers here are ridiculously humid. I wouldn't miss that either, if I were to ever move away, which I hope will happen one day.
DC/VA 1. Too many transient people/no identity outside of the hood 2. Wealth centric people 3. Burbs have too many planned communities with no focus on walkability or entertainment 4. High cost of living 5. Polarized
i live in Houston's kingwood/Atascocita area where i live i hate The fat ass cop that sits in the area and fuck wit speeders... really!! not many people speed through a subdivison he need to go catch some criminals. The home owners association that don't do shit, they tell people how high to cut their fucking grass what days you can and can not put your trash out... and the charging of fees..those are the things that yank my nuts the most... and they are the people that request for the cops cops a in the area are cool but catch the fucking criminals. i hate this area for that.
Where I live, racism runs rampant... I can't walk down the street with my guy without getting STARED DOWN by tons of people. I also dislike that stores aren't open on Sundays, the fact that everyone smokes, and the lack of vegetarian-friendly places to eat and shop. There are tons of other things I dislike but those are the main ones! Of course, I do love plenty, but I won't get into that as the thread doesn't ask for it
