Yes. I think, also, that people want to be recognised for doing good work and given a reward for it, without having to ask. Not realising that the boss is running a business and that means he/she needs to keep costs down where ever possible. Having said that...some of the best run businesses are the ones that do reward workers. Positive reinforcement is a powerful thing.
