I see where you're getting at, but just a few things: Don't you think the make-up around the eyes is a little too much? Plus if you're aiming for a cross between Rosemary's Baby and Black Swan, you could add a little touch of red on the top part of the eyelid, with a hint of black too. Also, she looks a little nervous from the picture. You could give her a more statuesque, stern face. Overall, it's a good photo. P.S. Would it too much to add a black baby getting breastfed by her and say his name is "Black Jesus?"
These pics are confusing. What is her headress? You almost think she may be Muslim but then that would contradict the nudity. Not of fan of this shoot Ymra.
Neither are any of the Abrahamic religions and even angels are shown to be maniacal and deadly. She's speaking metaphorically and by that, women with an innocent appearance. Also, women figures of any religion are generally seen as "heavenly" and full of grace. Men were never seen as such. Also, pedophilia isn't exclusive to one belief. Are you ignoring that fundamental fact when we have a lot of Christian and even Jewish pedophiles in this country?
I'm not ignoring shit. Christians and Jews get exposed and called out for their pedophilia...Muslims do not. We know about all those pedophile Catholic priest...but not a peep about BACHA BAZI. Muslims sure do talk a lot of shit for a people who's prophet married a 6 y/o girl.
Yes, but there's one major difference: What happens here are domestic issues and it's more prevalent in our place. If there were more Muslims in the United States who practiced that act, then it would be in the news. But since it's happening elsewhere, it's less of a concern unless it directly affects us. No one's ignoring that pedophilia exists in other parts of the world. We don't need to have extensive coverage about the issues at all. That's just common through and through.
I didn't like this shoot at all... ...didn't like the make up ...hated the model. ...but I was trying to come up with a contrast between the Islamic head dress and nudity, that was my concept. It simply didn't turn out the way I wanted it too. ...got paid, but didn't like the shoot at all. Not at all.
I liked the light but that really was about it.....I didn't like anything else. thanks. But I will try this shoot again.
You can't expect to master it in one shoot. I thought the model was good, but you just had to give her an angle and some emotional flare if you wanted to get something going. I think after the third take you'll find something that works. Just keep trying.
I'm not feeling this one, Ymra. The model is a dud & the makeup & the headdress aren't working. The concept seems a little off to me.
@Tam @Bigdog ...I wasn't feeling this shot AT ALL. The make up was off, she didn't bring what I asked her to bring. (client I know but...well...hell) She seemed lethargic through the shoot. If you only saw the image I DIDN'T use...(dear god). The concept I will work again. I really want to create a contrast between the emotion the head dress bring and artistic nudity. I generally come up with concept for each person I work with (for pay for for fun)...and I don't think she could really pull off what I was trying to capture. I did like the light but it was a little flat....the next shoot of this same concept with be 100% better and I think I'll try something more moody.
I do agree that the model was the biggest issue with the shoot. A corpse would've been more lively, lol. IMO, a model doing this shoot would need to know how to show intensity with an innocent, understated sexiness to make it work. I look forward to seeing it after you try it again.
