Small portion of the article, the entire thing could be read from clicking on the link. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...re-of-feminism/2011/06/01/AGjB9LIH_story.html Just read this out of the newspaper, what do you all think?
I'm so glad they did this. I fully support these walks. Slut-shaming is so common, especially when it comes to rape victims. I mean, really, you truly believe that if I had been wearing a turtle neck walking down the street at night that I would have been less likely to be raped?! HONESTLY?! If someone has it out for you, it doesn't matter what you're wearing, and they'll use it for an excuse every time. Personally, I find it disgusting how rape victims are treated.. What that cop said was completely unacceptable. I remember when it first happened, people were just beyond shocked.
true but if you dress slutish your only going to be looked at in a sexual way and not like a person which your are. they can dehumanize you saying "she was dressed like that so she must have wanted to be raped" or something similar to that
I understand its purpose, the intent that they have makes sense. The name of their movement is the thing that sounds kind of intimidating.
