welcome to our world the white male phallus is the bane of all existence just look at the Tuskegee Airmen story. Exceptionally gifted pilots that had to rise higher than the eagles themselves, just to get a taste of gratitude (and equality) from whites.
Not news to me..... fully aware. and it SUCKS balls. Same w the native Americans in world war II. Even though it does not compare, white women have to work harder than white males in many fields to get the same recognition as well. Yes, not in comparison to bw, or bm for that matter in majority of cases.
Did you forget, you asked me that before Biochemistry/Biophysics PhD (my dissertation was on Apoptosis in neuroscience) .... at MD Anderson Cancer Center (don't mean much to most people), but it is at the very top of the world in cancer research actually number one most years. Enough self boosting. I can tell you that any women in this field, regardless of color has to work much harder than males. This is the old-boys territory and they wont give it up.
That's interesting TreePixie, I 've always wondered what type of I.T. work you did and, have wanted to talk to you about some stuff ( if you wanted to) but, that's for another time. A lot of those guys at Best Buy are clueless but, I just let it go and; don't say anything. I don't even want to get started on the Geeksquad, some of them know what they're doing but, I've had to go behind them and fix up a mess they've made a few times. I admit to being a sexist to one of my female supervisors when I was younger. Looking back on it now, I regret how I acted toward her and, if I seen her again would apologize for it. She wasn't that bad of a lady and, I was actually attracted to her, which probably didn't make the situation any better. I never harassed her or anything like that but, we would have little arguments behind closed doors about my attitude at work. When I left, we were on good terms but, if I had to do it all over; I would have handled things much differently.
I am going to save the information this time, Dr.** Thanks. I commend your efforts. I've had some family members pass from cancer and it just devastating to see that monster go to work.
You have a real issue with the idea of context don't you. First I never said you were pampered and spoiled I said that trying to equate racism to sexism in the US is ridiculous since being a ww in this country doesn't hold anywhere the same barriers as it does to be black. That can be seen in arrest and conviction statistics as well as death row statistics and unemployment statistics. Like I said before when a white woman goes missing in the US the country shuts down to find them. The only other being beloved more are little white girls. Denying that being a white woman is far easier than being black is insensitive at least and dellusional at best. This isn't about who suffers more but there is a big difference. Like I said before whatever privileges that are given for being male aren't extended to bm and whatever holds you back by being a woman is assauged by being white. Would you deny that?
cosign ww are still superior to bm..don't get it twisted.. We get beatup by ur wm just for talking to u just ask dude missing 4 teeth from that college party
I don't think those Best Buy workers were being sexist at all. Seems to me they were just doing their job.
Who the hell said that being black was easier? It sure as HELL wasn't me. Oppression Olympics again, here DK. No, what holds me back as a woman isn't assuaged by being white. Color doesnt protect me from discriminatory pay, it doesnt protect me against rape and domestic violence, it doesnt protect me from having to choose to do the "beauty work" and expense which comes with being an accepted woman in society, etc. etc. You really have zero grasp on gender politics. I have attempted to unpack racial privilege in my life and stay aware, but it's ALL you see. You don't see other kinds of privilege because you're so focused on the ONE you don't have. You are privileged in education, class, gender, intelligence and lack of disability, sexual orientation and gender identity, to name a few, but you never think those privileges count, because you're so focused on the one. I recognize the intersectionality of different types of privilege. You seem to think only one type counts. One of the reasons I've been successful in my life is by staying aware of intersections of privilege and using what I do have going for me to the best advantage I can - like not letting being female stop me in a "male" career, by taking advantage of my intellect. If you spend so much time focusing on what you DONT have, you'll never take advantage of what you DO.
