Another year's upon us

As the wheel has turned again

We invite the ancestors one by one.
 
In the tradition in which I was raised, and in which I was a priestess back when I had more faith in the world, Samhain is the New Year, a time when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is thin, and communication with the Ancestors and one's beloved dead is possible.

This year, I lost the only soulmate with fur I have ever had - I'd had cats most of my life, but my connection with Henry was unique. I miss him terribly still. I share him with you in memory.

For those who celebrate Halloween as a secular holiday, a couple of interracial cats ;-)
