When I lived in Cali and could easily buy almonds in bulk, I made my own almond milk. Tasted way better than what's in the stores. Also made whipped cream with cashews - was doubtful as to how that would taste but it was delicious!!! Water is my beverage of choice. I would rather eat my calories/carbs than drink them.
1/4 C almonds (more if you want to make more than a single serving - adjust other ingredients accordingly) 1 C cold water 2 t pure maple syrup Blanch the almonds until the skins rub off easily. Place in blender with water and blend for 2-3 minutes. Add maple syrup and pulse until blended. If you are going to drink the milk plain, strain the "pulp." If you will use it in a smoothie or shake, no need to strain it. Note: You can use the "pulp" to make a homemade facial scrub. Mix with a facial cleanser and voila!
I found a new flavored water I like called Twist Essence Water. It's all natural & calories free, sweetened with agave nectar & stevia extract. My favorite flavor so far is mango acai.
I agree. I am going to look for it. Choccream.......that is soy based?? ....I thought guys weren't supposed to ingest soy.
