You're welcome, Christine & thank you. You're not the only one who's mentioned me getting quiet (as one person told me, "post bloody more", lol), but I'm sure there are others who like it better when I'm silent. Although I have plenty of thoughts & opinions to contribute, sometimes I feel like it makes no difference so what's the point. I do need to stop letting the negativity & foolishness dissuade me from posting though. The rest of us shouldn't allow those who bring that nonsense free rein to ruin the site. Agreed & I wish we could hear from them more often. There are several men who are gone & sorely missed, but it seems that they have no desire to return.
Tammy, I do care, what you have to share. I like your posts- and whether I agree or not, isn't important at all. This forum should be a place of exchanges of ideas. There is no "ultimative truth"- this doesn't exist. We are both women, nearly the same age (I am a bit older as much as I remember) and nevertheless we've had different lifes, different views, different experiences. The point is the respectful handling with these individual statements. At the end you know that all by yourself- as much as I love your pic Threads- don't hide yourself behind them, your voice is too worthful. Help us to make this forum again to that place, how we knew it:smt023
I said this exact in the "Where are the Women" at thread. Don't let this site be run by the nays. So I definitely agree. If there are 20 posts and 20 of them from the negators then it looks like all is shit in the world. If you have good conversation and a few thoughtful, intelligent or funny posts thrown in, it waters down the effect of the shit. Good people need to speak up.
I wish you would post those thoughts and opinions more as well Tam. I agree with Miss Dubois, as I also care what you have to share and it's important to contribute. Hope to see you post more often
Thank you for caring & appreciating the worth of my voice...I feel the same way about you. :smt058 For me it's not been about anyone agreeing with my posts/thoughts/opinions, but more about the navigating through all the drama & disrespect being so exhausting. There are so many dead horses scattered all over these boards, they're stinking up the place. You're absolutely right about a respectful exchange of ideas (whether someone agrees with those ideas or not) being the point. We should all be able to share our views, experiences & our lives if we so choose without being disrespected (or disrespectful) just because those things are different from someone else's. Some folks seem to thrive on the negativity & drama...it's like they're miserable so they want everyone else to be miserable too. All of the focus on being "right" or arguing for the sake of arguing instead of actual discussions, conversations, & idea exchanges takes away from what human interaction is all about IMO. Honestly, I have put more focus in my pic threads lately rather than wade through all the ugliness floating around...beautiful images are much less stressful & much more uplifting than all of the hate, negativity & ignorance. I say if someone wants to be hateful, save it for the trolls who deserve it & leave those who don't deserve it the hell alone. I suppose I've taken a long enough break from being my opinionated self, & I'll try to do my part to make this place as great as it used to be. Thanks, Ches.
Thanks, JC. I agree...we good folks need to speak up & be louder than those who aren't so "good". Thank you, Athena. I'm going to do my best to push through the negativity.
Another thing to be positive about are lots of great new members lately who post and say interesting things....and have chosen to stick around. Try to list off the top of my head...... neb, stizzy, ali, noc, nicole, libra, BN and the list goes on ....am forgetting many.
That's an excellent point, JC. We definitely have a lot of great new folks that help make it interesting around here & who haven't let the negativity run them off. :smt023 Many thanks to all of the awesome newbies & veterans that make this site worthwhile...you are very much appreciated!! :smt003
And we're very happy to have you here! Your great attitude & the respect you show others (& the fact that you're so adorable) make you an awesome member of the family. :smt058
