OK, to that end, saying something is 'gay' in this day and age is completely insulting and demeaning. When you say something is 'gay', do you even have a concept of what you're actually saying? What about it is 'gay', especially when you're saying something is negative? There are many other words you could use, and when you think of those words, why use 'gay' to express yourself instead of those many other words? It's not being too sensitive when we've had lots of gay kids kill themselves because of bullying. It's to the point that they have the entire awareness and ad campaign to NOT say 'That's so gay'. I agree that when it comes to some things, we can be sensitive, but when people's lives are literally at stake, I have no patience for it....Just like I have no patience for racial slurs, or insulting other people by virtue of race, culture, weight, etc. I've met many people who don't do that at all, and a few who do. The few who do, I drop. At that point, as far as I'm concerned, you have no other redeeming qualities - I don't care who you are, how much money you make, and how much Shakespeare you read - you aren't worth my time. Of course, you're free to disagree - and I get the feeling you will, DK -but it has served me well so far. I have many really wonderful, kind people in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
