Very beautiful, peaceful even. Great pic Mama.:smt023 Poor little thing. Somebody needs to get Namwan some nicorette patches quick. Great finds Christine.
Pretty pics, Mama. I especially love the second one. Fascinating stuff, Christine! I definitely think animals are much more conscious than many realize.
Alex was amazing. Sadly he passed away quite a few years ago. I can't remember what the name of his replacement in the behavioural studies is...but I believe that bird is shaping up to be something amazing too. Human's are a very arogant species. We assume that we are unique in every aspect, and we're not. Thankfully there are people out there proving this (that we're not unique in our ability to learn, think, feel).
lol...:smt042 I can just agree, most people lost their sense for other creatures. In the Zoo, it's very much to observe..people look at it, but see nothing :smt023...I was reading lately a quote...Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed (Mahatma Gandhi)
It makes me think of a toy poodle my mother used to have. She had a litter of puppies too early and none survived, so she went into a deep depression. She wouldn't eat and slept all the time. She finally started to perk up a bit when she "replaced" her babies with small stuffed animals from around the house. She carried them around, she cleaned them, was extremely protective of them, and she even pretended she was feeding them. It was sad to see how much pain she was in, yet amazing to see her do what she did to soothe herself. Obviously she desperately wanted to be a mother, and she found a way to make it happen by finding some "babies" to adopt. Pretty, Britty.
My cat family also split, when the "grandmother" had babies and her "daughter" wasn't able to. The daughter always interfered, occupied the "mothers" place, didn't leave the babes. The "grandma" left then together with her "husband". They came together and they left together.
Aww since we are celebrating a mother's love....(even though it's father's day tomorrow) :smt050 Now THIS could be a daddy...
It's amazing how often the mother instinct is so much stronger in those who can't have babies than in those who can (just like humans). There were a couple of times my mother's poodle stole one of her blue healer's pups to mother it...it was funny seeing her carrying a puppy that was as big as she was. You know how I love the lions...beautiful pic, Christine. :smt050 So precious, Blissy. :smt049
thank you, you three.. You recognized Al' Bar? I've sent him into Africas wildness..lol.. And yes, you are right about it.. Awwww...so cute!!!!
Great, fabulous! The second pic is strong...wow..the photographer was feeling like food for a moment, for sure!
