New forum member here. I just wanted to get your take on my online dating situation. I signed up for match.com and pof. Wanted to try something different. I have spent three months this year trying it. Match.com was ok, so I canceled it. POF, I've gotten decent replys. Long story short here. Saw a profile of a woman I really liked, and was attracted to on POF. I'm a 28 year old black male and she's 24. I don't think she was on POF that long. Maybe two or three weeks. Now, I sent her my first message on the 26 of July. Then she responded to my suprise that sameday. Sent another message, and then she responded. The third message, she didn't respond. I bet she got flooded with messages or was bored. Who knows... After that, I just kept looking on POF. After a while, I just got tired of the online dating game. I wanted to try real life for a while. If nothing worked, then I would try a online dating site in five or so months. Before I closed my POF profile, I sent her a message saying I was deleting my page. I left my email address in the message using pofs email system stating I would like to keep in touch and talk with her more. Also, I said if you don't respond then best of luck on POF or something like that. I was ready to move on. So a day after I closed my POF profile, I see that she sent me a message from her yahoo email account to my gmail email address. She apologised for not reaching me through pofs email system before I closed my profile. She said she was happy that I left my contact info (only email addy). Then we went back and forth through email communicating. I had an older blank POF profile account from way back and was going to delete it. I was curious to see if she was still on POF. So I checked via POF's user name search box, and she deleted her account. I just find it a coincidence that she closed her account closer to the time I closed mine. Not reading much into it though. Maybe she just didn't find anybody she liked. As of now, I'm back and forth with her through email. Sent two emails making small talk. The third email I asked for her number or I offered the option to keep sending emails if she was comfortable. So I'm just waiting for a response for her number. So here is my question if she doesn't respond and give me her number, what sense would it make for you to email me off pof's site compared to just ignoring me. Either she gives it to me or not. I then move on pretty much. Thanks for any insight on the matter.
While 66% of people find their mates via online nowadays, and get married, there are still some things to consider as well. While they found their mates online, they still took the liberty to meet face-to-face out of determination. It's a waste of time if you two aren't planning to meet. So, you're free to go back and forth, but if you both don't meet, then don't bother. Besides, she probably is talking to five other people anyway. Keeping her options open. So it would be a waste of time on your front.
Killing you? Why are you so wrapped up in someone with whom you've only exchanged 2 emails of small talk with? It's not anything serious between you two at all, so if you never hear from her again, just move on.
