Sounds very yummy! I haven't seen those around but then again I don't think I was really looking... That's going to be the first thing I look for when I go to the liquor store again. :smt038 As for me, I'm drinking kool aid:drinkers:
Mamma Chia? Nice. I'm drinking water with chia seeds floating around in it, hehe. Sounds like a yummy combination! *adds to her "to look for" list*
Sounds ridiculously delicious. Two of my FAVORITE flavors together. Wonder if Whole Foods sell it. Love the play on the name and subname of it. Chia is supposed to be the super of all the super seeds, lol.
They do bliss, though I didn't get it there today. We have this other store local store ...Natural Grocer/Vitamin Cottage. They have every bit that Whole Foods does but wayyyyy better prices. I also got a bag of chia seeds to do my own thing.
I was reading on them last night and wanted to post. There is a resurgence of popularity of chia because of the health benefits. I enjoyed the drink alone nevermind the health benefit. But here they are: Help weight loss. Chia seeds are popular for weight loss. They reduce food cravings by preventing some of the food that you eat from getting absorbed into your system. This blockage of calorie absorption makes them a great diet helper. Feel fuller faster: They can also help your diet by making you feel full. This is because they absorb 10 times their weight in water, forming a bulky gel. Hydration for athletes: They are also great for athletes because the "chia gel" can hydrate the body. Reduce your blood pressure: There's evidence to suggest they can reduce blood pressure. Omega-3: They are the richest plant source of Omega-3 (the vital fats that protect against inflammation—such as arthritis—and heart disease). In fact, they contain more Omega-3 than salmon! Benefits for diabetes: Because chia seeds slow down how fast our bodies convert carbohydrates into simple sugars, studies indicate they can control blood sugar. This leads scientists to believe chia seeds may have great benefits for diabetics. They are easier to digest than flax seeds, and don't need to be ground up.
Thanks for this list, Jordan (and your previous reply) The benefits are quite healthful, I truly hope they do all that... I did once goggle them after Dr.OZ mentioned them for weight-loss but never followed through because they reminded me of flax-seeds (yuck). But your drink has spurred me to buy/try it when I go shopping next and if I like, will buy a bag. Thanks again.
Bliss when they are in a beverage they turn to gel......like mini tapiocas or pearl of gelatin like. They float in the beverage. They also help you with hydration. Soldiers used to use them going into battle. They are awesome. .... When I went to the store I said where are your chia seeds...the girl sighed and said oooooohhhhh....did you see Dr Oz....Me: no I don't watch tv. She said well he endorsed them and they are flying out of here. I said oh well......I just want one bag please.
Ah, that explains the look of the beverage @ pearls...now you have me excited to try! I will def post when I do. Thank you so much! LOL at the Dr. Oz effect. Used to be the Oprah effect. *ps: Funny, I pretty much stopped watching all TV in January (everything I WANT to watch I do online), I didn't peg you as a non-TV watcher. :yawinkle:
