The question, whether the rape of "your own wife" is possible/legal or not, is depending on the personal view, how much your "beloved" person is worth to you or not.. Can he do it Legally....can he do it and get away without being charged with Rape, unlike a strange guy who grabs a woman on the street and forces himself on her or if a boyfriend rapes his girlfriend. In italy we had to wait until 1975 when there was the reform of family rights system, the same that made abortion legal and fixed all the stuff about divorces etc. Before that, on a theorical aspect, a woman couldn't be considered as "raped" if the fact happened in a marriage.
I am sure you have either seen the show COPS or at least heard about a man going to jail for beating his wife. If it is illegal to beat her, then what in the hell makes you think it may be legal to rape her?? rayer: Tip: Go to the donut shop and strike up a conversation with some cops and simply ask them, problem solved.
