1. I want someone who is truly single or completely divorced, I understand separated happens but I am not comfortable being involved with these situations.

2. I will not consider dating anyone with any history of domestic violence, who considers themselves to be bi-sexual, or has any major issues with the law.

3. I have a strong preference towards black men.

4. I prefer goal oriented, straight forward men, I'm too old for mind games. Major plus if they have a college degree.

5. I love men who can carry a conversation and loves all types of music. My guilty pleasures are concerts, playing music, and listening to all genres except country music.

Well you're in luck that you prefer black men, its much easier for ww to find decent bm since the educated and upwardly type black men are more likely to date interracially. As far as number 2 there's really no way to screen for that since people like that aren't usually open about it.

I have been on OKC for about a year and have had mostly positive experiences. POF is more problematic, and I don't recommend it. There are a few IR sites out there, but unless you pay, you won't get much. That is one reason I came back to an IR forum. The best way for me to meet someone is to come to a place like this, make friends, let people get to know me, and let an attraction happen more or less organically.

Not a bad strategy. A few members have carried on personal relationships. OKC in my opinion has a smaller amount of hot women but a lot more women who are long term material. POF has a higher volume of hot women frequenting the site but it is a bit of a meat market and has far less educated people which is a deal breaker for me. I find that women who haven't gone to college have little to nothing in common with me so there's really no point

I'd recommend OKC too. The only downside I've found is that if you're a Black man, there are a lot of women that don't date interracially. Even though this is the deep South I was still actually kind of surprised at the number. Still, it is free so I'd say go for it

By the time I got done, the number of profiles that I'd hidden numbered in the dozens. The White women I've met on that site tended not to be from the South. One in particular was from New York and another was from Wisconsin.

Actually, that was how I did it. I looked for the answer to the question about strongly preferring to date someone of a their own racial background and just hid the profiles that answered the question "yes."

I think this weekend instead of just hanging out with some friends, I am going to go to Chattanooga and hang out and see if I can't meet some new people. I know exactly what I want but can't seem to put it in words. Besides, the important thing is to get back in the game..so maybe just jump in? I think I am a lot more fun in person and I don't have to deal with the whole attraction issue, either they like me or they don't? I guess I think when it is supposed to happen it will. Maybe the man of my dreams is just down the road..

That's one of my beefs about OKC...I really wish there was a way to filter people out based on their racial preferences, since that's what one would call an automatic dealbreaker in most cases.
