You have to realize America is one of the few places that consider some of these nationalities white. My ex-wife/baby mother is from Germany, and I have an ex from Naples, Italy as well. Italians aren't considered white in Europe. Nor are Spaniards or the Portuguese. But here they are here. Same with Jews, Slavic nationalities, etc.

On the real though, people of all ethnic backgrounds do that. Black People are sometimes quick to claim a white or native ancestor before even looking at africa Filipinos stay claiming that "Spaniards raped my ancestors so that makes me Latino" shit. I've even seen White people try to claim native when talking about immigration.

I happen to have all three seasons of The Boondocks. I hear the words nigga and nigger all the time on that show. It make me laugh, cringe and think all at the same time. I called a white boy in high school a nigger. He didn't like it and tried to make his assertion of what a nigger is. And it wasn't even correct. Nigger is defined as a person of no morals or scruples. Nigga is a term of endearment amongst (black)friends and relations. I do not like to use that word at all even if that person deserves it. I use it in my stories, but only at a minimum.
