Major explosion went off literally one minute away from my place. I was sleeping then so obviously, I don't have footage. The ground shook for about 2 seconds after the loud thunderous boom sound--at first, I thought it was an earthquake--but then I realized that earthquakes did not make a boom sound, so I automatically knew that it was a bomb. A few minutes after the explosion, I heard lots of police cars and firetrucks come to the scene and that's when I tuned in on the radio. Turned out that the explosion was set off accidentally from the construction workers working on building new condos. It really scared me and other people too. Let's hope that doesn't happen again.
Yeah I know! Ridiculous as it sounds, the situation has been taken care of so hopefully this accident doesn't happen again. There's already been an episode where someone set fire to a small condo and an old ABC resturaunt around here too. The sooner I move, the better. o.o
And to think Saanich was once a safe city to live in. A safe haven free of any sort of disaster, man-made or natural. But I would say don't let the events scare you shitless, dear.
Saanich is still safe but there have been accidents and episodes here and there--we get rare stuff unlike other areas where they get it a little more often.

Now this is just downright depressing. But glad to see the casualties have been minimal. It could have been worse than what's witnessed in Boston, but I have yet shown an inkling of care about that. A propane tank gone wild is leagues better than some doofus carrying explosives any day.
And to think I live only 45 seconds away from the scene just made me more shaky. Yeesh! :O (we got hit the hardest.....) Oh well let's hope it doesn't happen again.
When it's close to home [literally or figuratively], of course it would scrounge up dreadful thoughts.
