Jesus supported marijuana. No wonder people were superstitious way back when or revered him as some god-like figure.
What do Whoppers (maltese balls) and spray snow have in common? It sounds like an awkward combination, malted milk chocolate coated balls and spray snow have 2 ingredients in common! The two ingredients in common are calcium carbonate , and sorbitan tristearate (surfactant). Spray snow uses calcium carbonate as the ‘snow’, and sorbitan tristearate as a surfactant ...to allow it to mix with the water in the can so it can be sprayed out. In Whoppers, the calcium carbonate is likely a texture modifier, while the sorbitan tristearates use is unknown. This is shocking! Now I understand why I couldn't find a bookstore in one of the malls in Naples. Over here in Germany you will find a bookstore in EVERY mall, so I was surprised. I had to go online to look for the next Barnes&Noble. I don't think I could live without books, I'm addicted to reading.
I think it's downright sad. I love books, and I couldn't live without them either. Bookstores around here are few and far between these days, and our local library sucks. People not enjoying reading is a baffling concept to me.
They have that new stuff called TV & the Internet. I hear that TV has something called Reality Shows & that Internet has something called porn that's suppose to be very mentally stimulating & thought provoking . :smt102
That new stuff has nothing on books IMO. Those things are "mentally stimulating" & "thought provoking" alright, but not in a good way. lol
This! I could live without tv but not without books. Well the internet is a different story though. Where would I be without WWBM? :freehug:
Yeah, I have to have my books. As far as the internet goes, I have to have it as well (I love WWBM :smt050), but books are definitely better than porn (most of which is boring as hell).
I'm lost without books. I start to hyperventilate if I realize that I don't have any unread books around.... I found a cool website called Book Bub that offers ebooks (Kindle) for free up to $2.99. I have a Kindle and the app on my phone and tablet, so if I didn't get to the library (ours is great), I have plenty of options. (I don't have to read the latest bestseller - I can wait until it's in the library).
I go crazy when I don't have any books to read, and with my work schedule I don't get to go to the library as often as I'd like. I prefer actual books to e-books, but I do have Kindle on my laptop for emergencies. lol Thanks for the BookBub info; I signed up for it today and have already found some books I want to read. Free & cheap is a good fit for my budget these days.
