After Observing for Months

I have no idea why the name Aslan is popular, but welcome to the board. And there is an ignore function here which is one of my favourite things.

There's an 'ignore' function? That's cool! I'm not a fan of the bickering either. How do I use it? Welcome Aslan!

Welcome, so what brings you out of lurking since you find so many people here dysfunctional?

The reasons are many. Primarily, because I would like to add my two cents to certain discussions, but my Utopian dream is to bridge dialogue between the extremes, and, while not eliminating the functions, eliminate the language that causes dysfunction.

I also find it interesting that despite everything I wrote in my intro, you chose to home in on one statement: since you find so many people here dysfunctional

The short answer to your question: Because I occasionally feel I have relevant input to topics discussed and no longer care to remain silent.

Nobody disagrees with The Dark King and Co, in these forums. NOBODY. You better remember that.

But I am "somebody"! "Nobody" stood alongside "I don't know", and "It wasn't me" whenever sh*t hit the fan. The problem then, as it is now, is that the crap sprays everyone and contaminates the proverbial water. There are no perfect solutions that please "Everybody", but we can get closer to a middle - it used to be called "compromise" - a dying art

Thanks for the warning, but after six months of feeling things out, I think I have a general pulse of who is who.

Thank you all for the welcomes and the warnings. I'm sure I will learn to use my "Ignore" button in due time, but I'm equally capable of turning this damn thing off!

The name "Aslan", which I chose long ago, is Turkish for Lion and of course, the name given to one of the personas adapted in the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis.

On the light side, you could accuse me of lyin'

But on the real, I am (though I do not believe in astrology) a Leo and thus a lion, according to some of the many things I've read.

Oh, I get it now. You have the night shift at the NSA. You'd have to be pretty bored to study us for six months first. (Just playin) Welcome!

Fuck all this popularity.
If it requires keeping my opinion to myself, being fake, insulting people and posting pics of my DDs, being popular just isn't for me.

Welcome to the forum Aslan :smt006
