Being a father is both the happiest and saddest thing I have ever experienced. The joy of the love I feel for my son and watching him grow up is coupled with the sadness and worry about his safety and how I hate being separated from him. I wouldn't change it for the world, but life would have been so much easier had I not become a father. I use this feeling to try to motivate me to do better each day.

My dad and my step dad are polar opposites, but they each have such a special place in my life. My dad taught me how to protect my heart, he taught me what to avoid in men and above all he taught me to not take shit from anyone. My step dad set the example of how a man should treat a woman, how a father should love and mentor his children and he showed me what unconditional love really is. I feel like I got the best of both worlds with those two men in my life! One taught me to think like a man, the other showed me that its ok to let my guard down sometimes and allow love in. I'm a daddy's girl through and through so there's not enough time in the day for me to fully explain what's special about my dads. Everything...everything about them is special. They both have my back 110%. Doesn't matter how stupid some of my choices have been...they never lost faith in me and they never doubted that I'd come out on top. They're the reason I'll never underestimate the impact a good father can have on his children.

Both my biological father and step father I've never had a good relationship with.
I am not in touch with either of them.
However I applaud the fathers who have an active and positive role in their children's lives.

Father's Day is just another day to me, unfortunately. I've never had a relationship with my father and I don't have any children. But maybe in the future that will change.

Because it reminds me of the violent drunk that spawned my dark soul ;) Then promptly disappeared, only to reappear when I became a money earning adult and started harassing me for money.

A lot of people unfortunately have had bad experience with fathers. Fathers day is to celebrate the good ones.
