Going White

I think slavery and the events that happened in the 1950s and 1960s did a real number on us as a people. I agree with you're saying that we can develop initiatives to strengthen the standing of our community and how we relate to each other. Also we have to be aware that black people of the same gender can be racist against other black people. If we eliminated this, this could improve the condition of the black community.

To the second thing you were saying, the reality is strange though. Somehow Jeremy Meeks is a social media sensation with tons of white women from all over the world lusting after him, yet some other guy who happens to be black doesn't have any luck with women and he thinks rejections that he receives are because he's black.

I've now just started up dating/trying to meet women and I and created an account a few days ago (on July 3rd). I can't check back on it now and sign-in, but from looking at my e-mail, I've mostly received private messages from several women who are around my age or a little bit older (25 - 29) who happen to be white. I'll create a separate thread about that.

I believe the only way we could improve the condition of the Black community is if we all get on the same agenda and practice group economics. Every other ethnic group practices group economics and they are striving socially and economically. Black Americans are the weakest group in America and this country/the Western world wouldn't be shit without slavery! America/the Western World made big $$$$ off the backs of slaves. After slavery ended, we had striving Black communities in the Reconstruction years but the white supremacists ruined that!

We need our own businesses and industries, period. Once we are socio-economically competitive, then dating outside the race would be so much easier for BM. We already have natural sex appeal and swagger now just imagine if we had the wealth. White men, Asian men, Latino men, etc would shit their pants! :smt043 Our Moorish ancestors would be proud. :D

Mikey, I have never know a guy to put soooo much stock in the opinions of others, the way you do. It is a wonder how you ever get out of bed in the morning with such low self esteem. Post after post you lament your view of the overall state of the Black community and the low odds for success for Black people as a whole. I, and many others, have given you link after link and proof after proof that refutes your numerous claims.

The facts are that IR marriages are increasing, at a rate higher than at any point in history. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/16/interracial-marriage-in-us_n_1281229.html For the 500th time Mikey, believe in yourself and strive for excellence in all you do and you will have no problems finding and keeping a mate, and to hell with what others might think.
Loki, you are right. You have done that and I've acknowledged that in the previous exchanges that we've had. Furthermore, I have no real problems with my self esteem. Sometimes I just get on the internet, read the local newspapers, watch the news, and wonder what the value/point of all of this truly is? Is there something that we're really gaining here, or does it just turn out to be a massive waste of time for us? If you followed the Elliot Rodger thing, sadly, part of the reason of why he went on a shooting rampage and people (men and women) lost their lives is because he was angry that black men were in relationships with white women while he wasn't and he viewed him self as superior to them because of his upbringing. People can say anything on the Internet and I remember reading that some commentators on sites used it as an opportunity to complain about how racist white guys are and/or to throw white men under the bus for being racist against blacks.

The point that I'm trying to make is that having more interracial relationships and having a more diverse country might actually backfire on us, and instead, I think we might be headed towards a feeling of social instability with everybody in the country.

That's true. We'll have to wait and see what the black community decides to do. To your second paragraph, you're right about that. I think now is the perfect time for the black community to invest in business ownership since the world economy is recovering from an economic crash.

We shouldn't wait and see because then we will be waiting another century! LOL It starts with making a commitment to support black owned businesses and discussing group economics with other Blacks.

And how exactly do you seeing having more interracial relationships & more diversity in this country backfiring on "us"? The main reason this country is as screwed up as it is, is due to people not wanting to be more diverse on multiple levels of society & wanting to continue to preserve some bullshit concept of "superiority", mostly by the small percentage of individuals who have actual power.

True. It's disingenuous to blame the angry reactions of those resisting change on people simply attempting to live their lives as they see fit.

Awww, I saw this on netflix

I see. I believe it's just a feeling of a cultural clash/social clash. I don't think that it's about superiority with most people, it may just be because they simply don't want to interact with that other group or inherently they just feel like not getting along. I also decided to say what I said earlier because Elliot Rogers was supposed to be multi-racial, yet he identified himself as a white male even though he fundamentally doesn't appear to be white.

The other reason of why it might backfire on us is because of everyone's educational standard generally. Students in the school systems (regardless of race) are having a tough time hitting the proficiency standard in the math scores, reading ability, and technological problem solving (computer science). The problem appears to be stagnant, so we just need to make a more urgent move for minorities to improve their educational abilities in a short space of time.

You're proving my point. No matter how you want to paint it, be it racial, social economic, education level or even religious beliefs, it all goes to a mindset of wanting to preserve some concept of superiority over others. In one form or another it's a consistently major factor in why this country is so screwed up because there are always elements of society that want to prove they are dominate & not only should be in control, but everyone should be lock step with their way of thinking & doing things.

This problem is not going to go away anytime soon. I hope that change will come more frequently and easily as the older generations die off.

I think both "once you go black you never go back" and the reverse presented in the OP are BS.

Perhaps some people just realize they have a preference later on than others

For me, honestly, I've seen wretched behavior from females of ALL races. So the idea of exclusivity from one ethnic sub-group is pointless. I might miss the woman of my life who IS black because of my own myopia were I to go there.

I want to taste the rainbow without fear. Good luck convincing most women of that. ;) :freehug:

I see, glad to see some else is realizing this. And to say this and openly speak your mind about it does not mean that we/you have low self esteem (referring to Loki and others). The biggest concern that we all should have is what "kind" of women you end up finding and that's why I say in my initial post - "we should be grateful any female human being even likes people of African descent." Because it's hard to find the correct one.

Mikey, look at the divorce rate (and the decline of marriage in general) in this country, it is hard or EVERYONE to find the right person, regardless of their ancestry.

Having the attitude of being grateful that someone would deign to show interest in you because of your ethnicity is asinine and self defeating. At the risk of sounding arrogant, when I was single, I KNEW I would be a great catch for ANY woman because of who I was, how hard I worked to achieve the goals I set for myself, and the morals and values that governed how I lived my life. It is no accident that I attracted (and am still happily married to for 20+ years) an amazing woman who is smart, kind, supportive, loving, and still gets looks from men half her age.

Please hear me on this, if you take the attitude you should be grateful to any woman that expresses interest in you, you are most assuredly setting yourself up for a life of EXTREME hardship in the relationship department.

Ok Loki, you are right. I am also aware of the fact that it's common place for women to actually choose the men they desire first, not vice versa where men go after the women. Some women initiated conversations first and have talked to me and sent me messages, so I'm ok with being able to hold a conversation and be confident. Sometimes I just question the value of it and wonder if it is worth pursuing or not?

Mikey, it's not about being "right", I am just giving advice from my years of experience and from what I have observed in my 40+ years on this planet. You are welcome to live your life any way you see fit as are we all.

As far as whether spending the time, energy and resources to find a mate is worth it, well only you can answer that question. I can only say that the best advice I got when I was single and dating, was to "know" what characteristics I wanted in a woman, know "why" I wanted those characteristics, and then have the "courage" to stick to my guns (even through fear, loneliness, self-doubt, ect.) until I found the woman I was looking for, you may have to wade through a lot of pretenders, but if you stick to your principles it will pay off in the end, I know it did for me...big time.

Going white has been a great experience for me, and I'm so glad I did. This is not to put down BW, as I've had good relationships with them as well.

I forgot that this post was there and I didn't respond to it sooner. Was too invested in the Ferguson thread to notice. How many people have you dated and/or cohabilitated with to find someone who turned out to be ideal for you to be around?

For me, I haven't gotten very far yet because it feels as though a lot of women (regardless of race) I don't really have much attraction to on the dating sites. It's kind of a deflating feeling, and then afterwards even I do come across someone that I'd like, there are risks like incompatible personalities, insensitivity to needs and concerns, etc. Lets assume that the women mentioned on this website are white and one of the women I'd meet might have some kind of flaw mentioned on the site. This is from the perspective of men and why they give up on women. It usually gains less attention and it seems like the media focus was more on why women give up on men.

1. When he got tired of her outbursts.
"I had a car accident. Lost my job. I was still depressed about family member passing away. My wife decides she really wants a gold watch that costs $999. I tell her I can't afford to spend money on something like that in our current situation. She shuts herself in the bathroom to cry. That was the first time I didn't react to that tactics. She comes out few hours later and asks me outright if I want a divorce. That wasn't even on my mind until that point, but that was the moment I knew."

5. When he was suffering from depression and she laughed it off.
"I was telling her about how depressed and hopeless I was feeling. I described it partially as an existential crisis. She laughed at me. She literally laughed in my face regarding my pain. That was the day I realized I didn't really matter to her."

11. When he had the commute from hell and she didn't care.
"I had to work late one dark winter night, missed my regular train, took a loooong bus and had to walk home a couple of miles from the bus stop in the freezing cold. She couldn't be bothered to come pick me up because she didn't want to leave her yoga class early. It had been 20 years of bad stuff, but that was the night I decided it was over. She realized what she had done later, but it was too late then."
