I am sorry but anything that requires you to ingest smoke into your body is not good no matter the so-called scientific evidence of it being beneficial
I'm not judging weed heads at all. I think there's a place for medical marijuana, and I agree there are very strong arguments to ban alcohol and definitely tobacco products. But weed is illegal in a lot of places and now some states are considering random drug testing those in my profession. Totally not worth it in my opinion. But I do consider smoking weed as unappealing as smoking anything else and wouldn't want my lungs exposed to that if I can avoid it. Just my opinion.
Probably, but the vast majority of smokers do not even pretend that it's for medicinal reasons. If I have a headache or migraine, I'll probably smoke long before I take advil or tylenol, mainly because I have little to no trust for Western synthetic medicines. As TDK pointed out, there are alternative ways to ingest this highly dangerous substance that are perhaps less harmful on the human body. Personally, I prefer to vaporize and I generally pair mine with a legal drug called Merlot.
I've been on fishing trips with surgeons who snort cocaine like it's oxygen. I'd be far more concerned with one of them going into the operating room coked up after a late night than the casual marijuana smoker. Frankly, I think all "drugs" should be legalized. I take a similar stance to women who feel that the government should not be all up in their uteri with regard to abortion. While I have no intention to do any other.,. uhm.. 'drugs', I do not feel that it's the governments place to tell me what I can and cannot ingest into my body. I feel that I should be held accountable for my actions even while under the influence, much like nobody is going to jail for drinking but driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offense (unless you're a Hollywood celeb).
Both of you have valid points even though most people smoke the weed and still claim its medicinal. If its eaten as in hash brownies or drank us tea i am cool with that but smoking it? No. Crystal Meth too?
If individuals making decisions that has potential to fuck up ones life as well as the lives of others is a crime, then the jails should be full already. We should all be free to make decisions about what we want to do with our own body, no matter how stupid those decisions may be.
