Because of our differing cultural backgrounds and experiences, we may see these recent news events very differently than the person we are involved with. Has those differences altered your IR relationship? Are you seeing things in you SO that you didn't know were there?
 
Very interesting that you posted this. My girl and I had an argument about going into the city for a bday party. I think shit is way too tense and the cops don't seem too happy with black folk so I don't want to go there unless I have to. She doesn't really get it because to her I have nothing to worry about because I don't do anything illegal. I don't really think she gets my concerns about this police brutality shit.
 
My girl and I get into very heated but passionate funny debates over these incidents but it brings us closer and helps us understand each other view points more.
 
My bf and I talk about these issues regularly and if anything it just reaffirms why we're together. We see eye to eye on a lot of things. You guys already know where I stand and the appreciation I have for what bm go through...my bf knows that all about me too.

I think it's crazy how some people seem to desire an IR but show no respect for the struggles their future partner endures. Shows me their desire for IR is simply cosmetic, not a sincere love.

That's because they just want the black dick and nothing else. You have some here claiming white hatred because black men are talking about issues affecting them especially the shooting cases by white officers.:cool:

Some just want dick but I think the majority of ww who fall into the category I described are only seeking bm for the appearance of it. They're only interested in surface level bm...God forbid y'all discuss the severe bias against you in this country, or dare discuss white privilege or racism from whites in general. Then yes, you instantly get labeled as white bashing. Fuck those people. They're not ones who define IRRs, they're the scabs we need to try and scrape off.

I'm lucky. My girl sees and understands these things because she watched her half black nephew go through a bunch of crap with their local police department. She's from a very small town in Northern California. She's seen first hand how the legal system will outright lie and come down harder on black men than it does on their white counterparts.

This issue leads me to ask; can a white woman legitimately want a relationship with a black man (to the point where they only consider black males as suitable matches for them) but be predujiced against black people?


And fellas, if your white girlfriend or wife really didn't get "it" and refused to see your side of these issues could you continue being with her? I mean if she came down firmly on the FOX News, Breighbart, right wing side of things, would that be enough for you to end an otherwise great relationship?

No no gl she gets it just unaware how obvious it is for black men esp young for this to happen to them, it never happens to her is all

Simpson Trial put IR couples(bm/ww) on trial. The troubles of O.J. and Nicole's torrid marriage painted all IR marriages between bm/ww in a very negative light.

respect is the key word. it doesnt mean they have to agree . it also can be said though they may not agree doesnt mean they dont love you.
