So I ride uber yesterday despite all of the bad publicity. It was great. It was cheaper in Dallas. The first time around I took a cab. I wasn't too happy with the second driver. He basically added an extra mile to my hotel. Uber on the other hand used gps to get me there. It was cheaper in the long run and faster. No rude driver either. No exchange of cash unless I tipped. Really really loved it. Won't be using taxis again. just kind of wish taxi cabs weren't fighting it out with them. Competition is a good thing. I don't understand the regulation of fees. so maybe someone can explain that to me about that with taxis.
You gotta feel for taxis though, uber is taking away from their livelihood. It's one of the easiest ways for immigrants to get a job when they get here, my dad did it for awhile. And since when don't cabs use gps? And you can swipe your card in a cab too. Maybe its different out where you are.
