These two are so in love it's beautiful no matter what race they are. Good for him! I've always thought they were an adorable couple (and I've always thought Derek Luke was yummy too).

Like the late, great Richard Pryor said, " Nobody wants to see the black man happy." 19 years together is a long time for interracial couples. People who slander a couple because of their different racial make-up as a couple are simply having no life of their own whatsoever. Derek shouldn't even give the haters any screen time at all. He should just give the a lot of something else; shade. Don't bring haters to the light. They don't deserve it. Love on.

Let's be for real here. The problem is when a BLACK MAN dates outside of his race (especially when it is a white woman). When a black woman dates or marries a white man, they don't have a problem with that. But somehow when a black man does it, there is a problem and he is a traitor to his race.

Society has a problem with black men enjoying the same sexual rights and prerogatives that white men enjoy. It's still sexist, in that men have privileged access over women, but it centers of social prohibition of full freedom to black men to do as they please in the way that white men do.
