Buying a ring is a waste of money but look, when you get married that's apart of the game. Your wife is going to feel some type of way when she see's everyone bling shining or someone rocking a huge rock while she has a pebble. I brought my ex wife 3 or 4 rings... I forgot. My girlfriend is on her second. I used to be one of those uninformed idiots who boneheadedly spent thousands on diamond rings but these days, i buy nothing but lab grown diamonds that look and last just as good as any top tier diamond at a fraction of the cost.
Yup they are abundant also a huuuuuge lol @ people putting stock into what there diamonds are appraised at, try selling it at that price and watch your ass get laughed out the door.
LOL, I remember this video. What I find amusing is the people who will spend 20k on a ring, and will end up divorced down the road. Depending on the state, she will get half anyway, why spend so much on a ring when she is going to get everything in the end?
I agree. I'm not a fan of big rings or necessarily diamonds. My ring from my ex wasn't big or expensive and I loved it. I liked the setting and it really suited my style.
I see this plus a wedding present as ideal, but if I can't think of anything to buy her she gets a diamond.
Hahaha at least you're honest. I love the look of diamonds but they certainly don't have to be big. I'm a girl, girls like sparkle lol. There's many gorgeous settings that really capture the beauty of eve small stones.
I can certainly see how engagement rings have gotten an ugly reputation but I still find such beauty in the romance behind my fiancée spending the time and effort to really pick out something he knew I'd love and wear forever. No exaggeration, I'd marry him with a silver band. The ring, just as the wedding, doesn't need to be anything fancy. He actually picked out a stunning ring for me and I couldn't love it more than I do. However, I bang it on everything (like Loki mentioned) so my wedding band will be a simple channel set eternity band that I can wear to work, under gloves all day, without hurting anything. My engagement ring at that point will probably only be worn when we go out somewhere. Rings truly don't have to be big, for many of us it's more about the sentiment behind the ring.
so many experences can be purchased...instead of diamonds...plane tickets...cruise tickets...plays...shows...balloon rides...skydiving...dude ranches...sporting events...anything/everything don't get me wrong...I love jewelry and have lovely pieces...but I rarely wear it...reflecting back on the money that was spent I truly believe that spending that money on experences would have meant more...
What's funny is I use to love jewelry but real talk that shit is just a target on your body for low lives. I actually agree with lippy about experiences or paying off some big debt.
