You guys just don't get it.

No one cares what your preferences are but you can state your preferences without bashing a whole group of other people who don't fit those preferences.

Much easier to highlight WHO/WHAT attracts you as opposed to who/what doesn't. Anyone reading would obviously know "ok, you like this? fine/that's nice/good for you"...and thus by default understand what you don't like.
