Great pic. It has a very ancient feel to it.

I like stippling. It's incredible that someone creates this with thousands of tiny little dots.

Very nice, Nyx. I like her style...the people in her paintings look like dancers. :)

Bev Doolittle - Woodland Encounter, painted well along in my career, is a deliberate study in camouflage by misdirection, which grew out of my effort to break all the normal ‘rules of composition’. The bright-colored fox, deadcenter, distracts the eye from whatever is going on in the busy snow scape surrounding him. And the richness of design – a wonderful, natural part of the trees themselves also gave me the opportunity to play games with the traditionally accepted uses of space that govern a well conceived piece of art.” -Bev Doolittle.

Look at the piece closely - there is more to the picture than first appears...

Love these, especially the first one. It's cool the way the horses & the people pop out when you're paying attention. :smt023

I know, right? I went to see my favorite artist, Charles Wysocki, at a book signing in a small gallery in Carmel, CA when we lived in Monterey, and the other artist featured at that gallery was Bev Doolittle. Her pieces fascinated me.

It would be awesome to see her work in person. I just looked her up...she's incredibly talented. :D
