Assumptions People Make About Interracial Daters

I've had haters always try to say things and make assumptions about why I date white women. Never fails to amaze me how they all come up with the same tired bs. I just shake my head and tell them to step off.

 

I'm sure there are some white women who give her dirty looks but probably no more than a black man gets from other black men when he's seen with a WW.

 

When acquaintances find out about my dating preference, it is always met by a puzzled look and something along the lines of, "Really? You don't look like a woman who would be into BM!" Which of course I take great enjoyment out of challenging them on, as I try to dispel such annoying stereotypes....

I think my appearance (classy, professional) is what throws them as I don't conveniently fit into what they expect a WW who's into BM to look like (no thanks to Flavor of Love, hello, LOL!). Mostly the ongoing reactions I get are as if I'm some sort of fascinating science experiment that must be questioned and studied, they just can't get over it!

 

:idea: Black men are generally less harsh on other black men if they're with a white lady. It's usually more a thing of as long as she's considered attractive then it's cool. They'll gawk because they want "some" too and that's a MAN THING not a BLACK THING...lol. :wink:

I don't think they are as much ignorant as just surprised, they don't see a lot of IR couples I suppose. It is very wide open here in the bay area (there are a lot more freaky things going on than hetero IR relationships, know what I'm saying!) but I think its just me personally prefering BM that throws them off. Stereotypes! :roll:

Know exactly what you are saying. Work colleagues had the "puzzled" look on their faces also when I put pictures of my two beautfiul children on my desk.... know what they are thinking. . most of the time.... hey, is it true about black men?!! My Nana actually asked me that once... of course, I answered her correctly!!!

Hey I dated a couple of guys up north. I never ran into that but then maybe it was just where we happened to go. One was in San Fran and the other was in San Jose.
