Best places for chances?

Hello all! I might have to re-introduce myself. My name's Michael, I'm 25 yo BM living in Detroit area who's currently studying to become a firefighter.

Now that that's out the way, I'm new to the bars and clubs in the area (I don't get out that much) and I'm looking for some social interaction with WF's in my area, but it's rough finding places where there's a good chance of getting some hook-ups. If anyone knows some good places (or better yet, some women!), please let me know something! Thanks to all.

I'm from the D as well. I live in Southfield. There are some cool spots where you can catch some fine WW; however I find it difficult to tell if they go for black dudes 'cause in the hot spots like Royal Oak, Novi, Troy etc. most WW dint give me much attention. I know I'm good looking so that's not the problem, maybe I'm too shy but those are good places to go. Now downriver (Taylor, Southgate, etc.) and far east (Roseville, Macomb, etc.) are IR friendly but the quality of WW goes down fast. I'm still fairly new to the IR scene as I've been dating IR for less than a year so I'm no expert at all. I know my man Taye on here is from Troy and I hear he is the man big time in the D so maybe he can help us out...lol
 
....and by the way, good to meet you Mike but I'm tired of all these damn dudes from the D showing up on here but no Ladies from Detroit.....WTF up with that......lol

You might seriously want to consider moving. I have some rather disheartening news. It's a long standing fact that Detroit has a rather weak singles scene. And the older you get, the harder it is to meet something quality. The reason is because there are fewer single people overall. Most people are married with kids, in super long-term relationships, or both. I've been in the Michigan for nearly 10 years, I've witnessed this.

You're better off out west, where they can use your skills as a firefighter. Try Phoenix, Atlanta, Austin or Dallas, TX(where I'm from) or, the best rated by msn, Denver,CO. Other suggestions are Miami, but you won't be able to swing that on your own, so like, central Florida would be good(Orlando) and the perennial favorite of singles, Washington DC.
 
I'm with TX on this one. I hear there's actually a black man shortage in PHX. I've been out there, the women are gorgeous. Young hotties or older women who still look good and need love, your choice.

I saw that! LOL Thanks for the help though. I worked in Royal Oak and Troy and had moderate success at best. I agree with the Downriver crowd; those just aren't good choices but it'd be ok if you wanted to get started (sorry if that sounds cruel). A good spot, ot me, is Clinton Township, but I doubt you're moving East living West.

I know the scene is real thin up here. I was already planning to move down south, TN/AR, but now hearing about PHX and out west, I might consider it. I'm a bit dependant on family, but I guess there would be a great place to move it to.

Well, imagine this gem I stumbled upon! I just recently returned to the Detroit area after a 5+ year absence. I can tell you that it wasn't part of my plan, but for now, it has to do. I arrived via Calgary, ALTA, Canada, and before that, I lived in Denver, CO for a year until this past May, and before that, Nashville for 3.5 years prior.

Let me tell ya: Denver is a single man's HAVEN! I'm looking forward to getting back! I remember when I first arrived there in April 2005. It's like they KNEW I was "fresh meat." I encountered women who wouldn't break their eye contact when our eyes met, etc. I even had two girls openly flirting with me, which gave me the ammo to stop them for some conversation. (Nothing ever became of it). I cannot say that I was "in demand", yet I cannot complain, either.

Like you, I am looking for areas to meet "vanilla" women in Detroit. I met a very cool "vanilla" girl a few weeks ago from Craigslist. I don't think we'll have much beyond friendship, and I'm not necessarily expecting that, but she's a fairly open-minded woman and I enjoy her company when we do hangout. I am really okay with friendship, because I can do without the risks and dramas that come with relationships -- I've been down that road, and I'm not interested in anything serious at this point -- unless it was with a stable and mature woman.

Perhaps all of the Detroit Metro locals here should plan a day to hangout, and go "hunting"? LOL! At least we wouldn't have to do this stuff alone, and could have fun while doing it.
 
What's happening in Clinton Township? I'm east. I'll tell you what I experienced this past weekend, during the Tigers game: Lots of eyes, from all types of women. It had to be the fresh haircut I gave myself, along with the clothes and the attitude I had that entire day. It was a strange, but welcomed experience ... and this was Downtown Detroit, of all places.

However, it's important to note that many of the passerbys were probably from neighboring cities.

Pls. elaborate on Denver, as I've rolled thru there a few times...but, never for long.

BTW, I do remember that a WW in Denver tried help an African immigrant who was being attacked by some skinheads back in the '90s. She was paralyzed in the incident...and the African was killed.

Yeah I'm from the D as well, the younger IR scene is growing my 25-35 is pretty slow.. I hear good things about Downriver , but I've yet to experience anything good
 
I'll have to agree with TexanSmile, Dallas and Austin have good IR scenes. I'm from Chicago but my mother lives is Dallas and I have a cousin in Austin and when I go to visit my Mum, I never have a problem with the IR hookups, I once met a nice lady at DFW airport while waiting for my baggage. Chicago's scene is pretty good too.
