Date rape was just as common back in the day, women just didn't report it.
It was one of those things where a woman would chalk it up to life experience and move on.
There used to be a common term pre-1960, 'slipped a mickey', referring to having one's drink spiked with a drug that knocked someone unconscious.
You hear the term often in those old crime noir and gangster movies from the 1940s and '50s.
Roofies, etc., are just a variation on a bad, old theme that's been happening forever.
Some dudes get off on the power trip of fucking a totally unconscious woman, don't ask me why.
There's an ex-NFL player Darren Sharper who was arrested recently for doing the exact same thing.
IMO that was Cosby's thing.
He didn't all the time but when he was younger I bet if the opportunity presented itself he wasn't above spiking a woman's drink to get that ass.
Go on any college campus on a Friday or Saturday night and there's probably 50-100 dudes geared up with pills.
