Black women who interracial date?

The idea that African women are somehow infintely better than black American women is absurd...the idea that anything American and black is bad and that everything else is good by comparison...complete bull. Sometimes, we as black people buy into all of the stereotypes. When brothas on this forum want to be judged on their merits and not grouped together with so-called "thugs" and "those kind of Negroes"...so they can show how they are "different" from the average Negro yet have no problem casting a broad shadow over all black women (except the ones in their family of course)...it doesn't make much sense to me at all.

Clearly black women can't be that bad considering that only 6-9% of black men in the U.S. marry outside their race while 35-50% of African/Afro-Carribeans in Europe marry outside.


WW are not more submissive....it's just that BW are less apt to put up with our bullshit because they tend to recognize it quicker...WW aren't "nicer"...it's just that because of cultural differences they tend to let up off of the gas while trying to understand when we are sincere versus when we try to play games. The best way to understand is not to ask WW or BM about how WW compare with BW....ask a WM...I doubt he will claim that WW are "so much more understanding and submissive"...if WW were that submissive...WM wouldn't be flocking to Asian women like maggots on rotted meat....that doesn't mean AW are submissive either...but some people think they are.

I dont know what the actually percentages are...but I dont think BW/WM unions are rare...I see it all the time, I am thinking it is probably even percentage wised with WW/BM...I think the fact that you see black male celebrities/athletes with white women the perception is distorted...


I know a few white male doctors married to black women...and I would have never guessed it until I saw their wife..
 
I don't know that we'll ever quite know the actual numbers since society consistently keeps this info under raps. Black/white relationships are simply not advertised. Sure, every know and then, we'll see a couple at an awards show or sporting event. But generally, unless any of us lives in a culturally adept city, we simply don't know. I can say I haven't seen NEAR as many wm/bw couples as the reverse, but I haven't been alot of places. Plus, in my experience, black women don't seem to want a white man (and vice versa) as much as a black dude to a white woman. But even that is changing now.

The fact that a lot of African men drool over white women in Europe, is no reflection of what esteem we hold African women. A lot of these Africans are students who have left the grasp of their strict parents, and inevitably play the field, and some do eventually marry white women. But, a lot do go back to Africa and marry black African women. Now, if we look at the American soldiers in Europe. they do what a lot of African guys do when they get to Europe;' they play the field’. However, I would never use this, as a reflection of what esteem they held of black American women.

This drooling over white women by black Africans would happen in Europe irrespective of what esteem we held for African women.

There will always be stigma about anyone who date outside their race. Black women will face the same stigma that us Black men faces when we date White women. Until people can open their minds, and see that love has no forms it will always happen. As for me I don't have a problem with it. If my sister dated a white man for example, I would be cool with it. I only care if she's happy.

my 2 cents

I think the reason why you see more BM/WW couples probably doesnt have to do with us being more attractive or white men not finding sistas more attractive b/c I've known some white guys (friends of mine) who were crazy about BW, particularly the dark ones for some strange reason..they just didint know how to approach them or they were too shy, or scared or something.
Brothas are not afraid, not to mention I feel that we ACTIVELY seek IR , much more that our female counterparts do. I think if sistas actively sought white guys in the same way they brothas did ...than you would see more BW/WM unions. Probably too many. Plus, alot of single BW are trying to hold on and wait for that black knight to come so they hod off on dating IR which is dumb I think. That happened to my sister. I told her that brotahs aint waiting around for you so you shoud just DO YOU and make yourself happy

I do see more BW/WM union in the entertainment world through.
My sister, (who's married to a white guy) says it's because we don't have standards when i comes to choosing a white mate and we'll pick just anything but she doenst know what she's talking about.
 
When white men date other than white women, it's usually Asian women that they pursue. I've seen a few white male/black female couples where I live though.

Yeah, I agree. They either tend to go for Asian women or Latin women because they're 'more feminine.' There's this common misconception that Asian women are all sweet and cute and super feminine and super nice, but I know a few guys that have been out with Asian girls and they have been nutters. One girl even put skin bleach in her boyfriends' face cream so he wouldn't tan. Just like there's a misconception that white men won't treat you well enough and aren't masculine enough.

Generally though, black women are reluctant to date white men but I think this is changing a lot now. One of my good friends and my housemate is a Kenyan girl and she's dated white men before and didn't make a massive deal out of it. I think the main problem is that white men are just scared of approaching black women and like someone mentioned, quite a few black women keep holding out for the ideal black man. It's still rare to see a black girl dating out of her race (whether it's with a white guy or an asian guy or whatever).
Sometimes it's very simple, they just aren't attracted to each other. I know white guys that are attracted to black girls, I know those that aren't. I know black women that are attracted to white guys, and I know those that aren't.
But I do believe that the media has a big impact on these things because apart from a few Halle Berry movies, the black woman/white man relationship isn't common. A lot of my white friends wouldn't go after a black woman because they're scared of being turned down.

I hope that once they get more confidence, it won't be such a big thing. I went out with a group of my friends once (a white guy, a black guy and a mixed race guy) and the white guy was the only one that came onto this very beautiful black girl and she was all for it, haha.

Ive noticed that African immigrant women have no qualms over dating white men in general.
Black american women seem to not really be interested in white dudes.

That is also true based on my observation. Most African women/girls I've met didn't have a problem with dating white men. It's very common in Brussels and Paris to see black girls liking white guys, and also in sub-saharan Africa.

Actually, if you have seen The Last King of Scotland, there's a very accurate potrayal of the life of a European tourist/immigrant in an African country. He gets a lot of attention and play from African women. There are of course thousand of reason for this.

But on the other hand, since I've been in the United States, I've noticed that very few black American women dated or were even open to date white men. Most have bluntly told me that they simply didn't find white men attractive. Hmmm....

In africa, I've also noticed a lot of black women dating white guys. For the most part I think its attraction, but there is always those African women who date white men just for status and money..Too many times I have seen an old wrinkly man, with some very young fine looking black African women...
In my part of Africa, white = wealth. And as the wealth gap between Africans and whites is huge in Southern Africa, a significant proportion are economic marriages..In all honestly I think a lot of these women marry white men as a way out of poverty.This probably would rarely even cross a black American's women mind(marrying to get out of poverty that is).

But you're absolutely correct about about African women who date white men for prestige, status and money. That's why I stated that "There are of course thousand of reason for this" in the attention white men received in Africa. Don't all Western men get attention from women in different places of the world and espcially in "third world countries"?

I've heard that many women in the former Eastern block I'd love to date or marry Western men...and many just to get out of their poverty stricken country with very little opportunites. So it's the same with African women. White in Africa = Wealth because a single European country, France, is wealthier economically than the entire African continent! Hell even the GDP of Spain is close to the GDP of the 53 African countries combined. And televisions and movies help sell that Western/European/ American dream.

But even in the wealthiest societies, there are women who look for rich guys for status and money.

Who can decide what the quota is? Why could there every be too many? That is a very racist remark in my opinion.

WM/BW do most of their hooking up at work and on campus.

I think in some of those African countries, race is perceived quite differently than it would be here in the states. I think over there the white guy would be just another guy who has an interest in african culture and people. That would gain him some respect and would get him in with the women. A perfect example was a story from one of the "Taxicab Confessions" in New York where a white guy got in the cab and started talking about a trip he took to africa where in lived pretty much amongst the people in villages in the country side. He stated that the people were very receptive to him and when he needed "companionship," one of the black female villagers would oblige. So I don't think it would necessarily be racism over there.

On the other hand, in America here, it's generally known how bad blacks have had it throughout history. Let's not think things have been good for blacks for a while. Black women have been taken advantage of by white men for years. So alot of these families have been keeping the black women away from white men for fear of racial retaliation much less fearing how the black family structure would change. Even nowadays, you generally don't see as many white guys with black women with how liberal this country is now. It's still a cultural stigma, but it is changing. Just look at the daytime court show. And of course, some black women in Hollywood. A good number are dating or marrying white men. It's just at a slower pace.
