Do you prefer your man to be tall or short?

I love tall women. My boys actually mock me about this.

I will say I've found that short women prefer much taller dudes, I'm 5'9". I've found this to be especially true for women in the 4'10" - 5'3" range.

Obviously not all women are the same but it is a trend I've observed living in big cities.

Gotta disagree. Men seem to be more adaptable in their dating habbits. Like I've said before short women don't want short men but short men will pursue short women, poor women don't like poor men but poor men will pursue poor women, fat women generally don't like fat men but fat men will pursue fat women. Maybe this is an age gap thing again but men seem far more flexible in who they will pursue and date.
Women usually have a much bigger hang up about height. I may have about a inch and a half on you but you'd totally over look me for someone maybe 6'2 or taller at least as I've seen. I constantly hear the "I want to wear my heels and still feel small" as an excuse for this. It's largely on women when it comes to this superficial stuff even though men get the bum wrap.

Also on the flip side, A tall women will pursue a tall man, but a tall man will pursue either. A rich women will pursue rich men, but a rich man will pursue either (mostly a women less wealthy). So generally women are looking for someone to match their success or to get ahead off of. Their are exceptions but a lot of the time this is true. And women wonder why men front so much :???:

Maybe you are slightly right. One guy I'm seeing right now is 5'8" - which is exactly my height. He pursued me. But is it that men are more flexible, or is it that men are doing more of the pursuing than the women?

Another guy was 5'7". He had pursued me. And another guy was 6"5' and had pursued me as well. Like most women I like a guy taller than me... Well... of the tall guys out there, guys in that extreme height category are the ones who seem more likely to go for someone my height due to the fact that too much shorter seems too short.
But, again, it takes someone as tall as 6'4" and up to actually have my height as a PREFERENCE.... and guys in that height range, are SO RARE. This is why tall women's options are indeed more limited. It's kind of like how some women who hover in the 5 ft and below height range probably PREFER guys to be in a shorter 5'8"ish?? range. These will be the women with whom these short guys get a break. But again... full grown women in that height range are SO RARE.

So you may be partly right, but as a tall lady I can tell you that for sure I am not in the *preferred* height range of *most* men.

Hogwash men react to your signals. I bet when a guy 5'9 walks into a room you barely give him a glance so he can tell he has little to no shot with you, but I guarantee as soon as that 6'4 guy walks in your eyes are him you're giving him a signal if he approaches there might be a chance. You guys may be unaware of the singles you give off. I've have gone through maybe tens of thousands of dating profiles (both for work and personally) and height requirements come up in nearly every woman's profile where as for men it only comes up with shorter guys who commonly use "if you're into shorter men" or variation of that.
Men truly don't care, at least in the short term which is what usually happens when you meet someone. Women are in the position of power when it comes to bargaining in dating, it's really your choice when it comes to the kind of men you mainly attract but you do have to let them know there's a shot. Your jaw would drop at how many men will approach you if you give them the signal they some sort a shot. A smile and hair flip go a LONG way.

I totally see the opposite especially if the intention is to just hit it. Remember we're talking about meeting/dating not ideals for a relationship.

I spent a Friday night dancing the night away with a married man in an Irish pub, along with his married buddies and my girlfriend lol.

(Was rather impressed with his upfront honesty about being married, and that he wasn't trying to get into our pants at all. Cheek kisses at the end of every song, calling us pretty, but he didn't get all touchy feely the way most other guys would).

The guy in question was maybe an inch or two longer than me. During a slow dance it was nice to be able to rest my head on his shoulder, rather than against the lower chest of a guy. Just a change... typically not the height I'd go for, but it's not a deal breaker. I didn't pass him over to dance with his taller buddies, and if he was single, he would've gotten my number

Only issue I have is short and skinny. I don't want a stick, feeling better about myself lately, but I still can't do skinny guys... so I'd feel like a whale besides a guy that's smaller than me both height and weight-wise.

My ex-fiance was 5'8 at the most.

5'-10" translates to 6'-2" in heels....Now if he is gonna take you out in that busty black dress, he must at least have broad shoulders. .......I read somewhere that a man just can't be both short and hobbled with narrow shoulders....

I notice taller guys more... am more attracted to them, but never rule a guy out.

The guy at the bar was shorter, I didn't care. Perfect kissing height if we were to kiss. The same with my ex-fiance. Another guy I was interested in but didn't pan out... all about 5'5.

But there's also been taller guys, 5'10+

The ones about 5'5 were not slim, they were fairly muscular, or even slightly 'overweight'. That's what gave them the chance, since we'd have a similar body type, rather than me feeling bigger than him.

When the guys are taller they get more leeway, I'd be okay with a slim taller guy

and my O.H is probably a couple of inches taller than me... max...

I can agree with that. My height defintely doesn't enhance my confidence as a woman, lol. Unless its a really tall guy choosing a shortie. Or a really short girl choosing a towering guy. Then it's called having first dibs on the generally accepted pick of the litter. Not trying to be politically correct here, so you can say whatever you want about that, but I think what I'm saying is true a lot of the time, even if we don't want to admit it.

Me being a black man is enough to know that I don't need to worry about how much play a taller brother gets. There are enough women of all races who won't date me because of my size and there are enough that will. Besides, there is a whole world of WW taller than me at 5'5, who have no problems hooking up with me.

What about those ladies? Are they not into shorter guys as well? I'm sure there are some big city ladies and some small town girls who don't mind hookin' up with a shorter black guy. I'm a big city boy with country roots, especially when I go back to my special Island.

Any big city woman that passes up the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures this black man can give them, must be having enough fun already! They're getting too much good stuff to want what I have to bring. I gotta believe there are quality women in the big cities that enjoy a nice hunk of chocolate man. People see more options in bigger populations, so yes makes sense this happens to short men. As a tall woman, 5'8" I sympathize with short men. We are in similar situations. I'll be the first to admit I highly prefer a guy to be taller than myself and the taller the better. However, height is not a direct correlation to the size of....other things... or the skills involved with such other things. It's not the be all, end all... And yes, lack of height can also be compensated for in the pea-sized animal part of my brain, by a man adding bulk to his frame.

However, all of this is... no more superficial than how a man would pick out a woman based on her looks. I've never heard anyone say that life is fair.
