lippy completely agrees with you...my son is reading a book on bob marley right now for his social studies class and then he has to write a paper...bob marley was born in 1945...this is an assigment for black history month...not exactly my idea of history...not to take anything away from bob marley...i just think we are glossing over a piece of history
I beg to differ. OJ was the first African-American to beat a murder rap the same way white men have since Day One: with money.
You can say the same thing for all the morons I posted earlier as that's all the younger generations know.
Also seems as if they don't want to know the history. All these kids know is hip hop. I know I'm generaizing a bit, but I'm just in a pissed off mood.
Don't get me started or else the Hip-Hop Defense League will swoop down with their tired List of Five Positive Rappers™.
I think e can take on the Hip-Hop Gestapo...along with the same sistagirl with many aliases (as these are the men they seem to admire).
Lippy, only the blacks demean their own history, the hispanics and asians would not dare to demean their own, at least not publicly. Like Malcolm X once said it's blacks who like to air their dirty laundry in public, hence, the lack of respect and self hate among themselves. And you see that here. It's not the whites who will shame you, but our own.
Not funny, tragic. Oh for the record the List of Five Positive Rappers™ 1. Mos Def 2. Talib Kweli 3. The Roots 4. Common 5. Dead Prez They are invoked in any discussion about the negative effects of hip-hop despite the fact that combined they don't sell what 50 Cent sells per release.
I can't hide from the truth man. As much as I love hip-hop, there will always be a flood of generic ass gangsta/bling rappers, spouting off about bullshit. Aside from NWA, and a few others, I'm not a fan of gangsata rap, just the G-Funk beats many of them rap over.
