Good Philly Lounges to Meet Open-Minded White Women?

I'm guessing mainly folks in Philadelphia could give me some pointers here...or those in the pverall Pennsylvania vicinity. I'm particularly interested in the Olde City hang out area on 3rd-2nd and Market Street in Philadelphia. What would be some good lounges and clubs in that area to meet decent, single white women?

I used to go to this lounge in Olde City called Blue Martini. On some weekend nights, the crowd is really nice (in terms of the ladies) on other nights, it really sucks. I once almost met a really wonderful, white woman there. I was by myself that night...she basically made a move on me and we danced for almost two hours. Unfortunately, I lost her phone number and I thought I had saved it in my cell phone. I've never seen her back there again. She was a teacher, really cool. I also don't like the attitudes of many of the bartenders at Blue Martini. Many of them are really rude and condescending. They would literally push you so you would get out of their way while serving customers.
 
sure, there are many in old city area, also Manayuck and Rittenhouse. Most of the bartenders are working class white kids who are very racist here so you are going to get that attitude from them.

I have plenty more in Rittenhouse and other parts of city.

Hi Tucker, I'd be glad if you could let me know about what bars/clubs/lounges to check out in Rittenhouse Square, as I plan to go there with a friend in the near future. I've never been to Red Sky before, but I always walk past it when I'm down there. Is Rittenhouse Square diverse in terms of the crowd and what are the dress codes at most of the places there? Do they let people come in with jeans, shoes and perhaps a T-shirt (not a baggy white T-shirt or one with athletic gear, but a presentable one) or do they prefer that you dress more formal? I also heard about some place called Denim Lounge on Walnut, but my cousin told me there's very few black folks who go there and that the one time he went, he and his friend were the only blacks and he didn't feel very comfortable.

Tucker, I never see any black folks in places like Mad River. The thing with Old City is that although it's fun, some clubs seem to be very segregated. I don't know if things have changed at the 5 Spot, but from what I tend to see, it's often been the hanging out spot for black guys with baggy, white T-shirts and the thug/gangsta type. Many of the white women who've been going there have done so specifically to seek out those kinds of men. The reason I used to like Blue Martini is that you don't have to pay to get in at all. Do you have to pay to get into Red Sky? Sometimes it's a waste of money if you pay and then you end up not enjoying yourself.
 
shaft, why would you want to see black people in Mad River, I thought you were looking for WW? Also, I mentioned alot of places, some you have to pay others you dont. You just go in, be nice and talk to people.

this is Philadelphia, it is segregated for the most part, as I have been trying to tell you in other posts. its a racist place, but there are some places tht are better than others. Bar Noir is good, the Continental, Dock Street, the coffee places, Fado, Black Sheep, also North by Northwest in Mount Airy, University City bars near UPenn, some places on South Street

Thanks, Tucker. You have provided me with a great wealth of info that I have to explore. Of course, I don't mind looking for a white woman, but the thing is that the looks and cold stares you get in some of those exclusively white clubs are unbelievable. Sometimes, even white women there will be afraid to approach you or to let you approach them when they are in places where their people make up an overwhelming majority.
 
reread what i wrote you Shaft. I explained to you before that philadelphia is a very racist city. whites and blacks are segregated in this city, block by block. the whites who come to these clubs are often from the neighborhoods, from the suburbs and south jersey.

they are less comfortable with black people than even southern white women are.

If you go to the clubs and bars not trying to pick them up, but just to hangout they will be more comfortable coming to talk to you. just be patient, go to the places i have mentioned, and just dont try to come on to them or pick them up.

also if you go to the cool bars instead of the yuppie martini bars then you will meet real women who dont judge you based on race and dress. try, McGlinchys and Dirty Franks. try North Star Bar and Kyber. try Ortliebs. and try the educated places like Mt Airy and Rittenhouse area.
