Yep! Philly is pretty cool. And there's so much of the city I've never seen! Maybe you'll run into Bliss or Petty. Lol
Thank you guys! Just got home from a meeting in LA and the one in NY And awesome to see you Tony!!!! How you been?
I've been doing okay actually. Just working a lot and trying to come back to the forum on a regular basis like the good old days. I miss y'all. How about yourself?
It would be nice, so very nice to get back to the good old days!! We had fun then, not ask this divisiveness.... I'm not posting like I did then. I moved to Philly this month so now I'm an East coaster. Lol. I like it in my neighborhood a lot! Please hang around? We miss you. We need you!
I see a few of you have fond memories of the old days at WWBM. I'm sorry I missed that period, and hopefully they're not gone for good. Glad to hear you're liking Philly. I've been craving a Philly cheesesteak for quite a bit now. I really see me making a run up there any day now.
It used to be a lot more fun here with way much less divisiveness. Much more interaction between men and women, in a much more fun way. Light-hearted and fun Chestnut Hill is awesome cute, quaint and walkable. I can actually WALK 3 grocery stores, one is a co-op, Starbuck's and vet and Doggy store and many other stuff. When I walked my dogs this evening, a drunk dude hopped off a cab, and skipped the pay. The cab driver stopped in the middle of the street right outside my house and chased after the dude. The dude turned around and started to go after the taxi driver, who ran away. The dude was so drunk he fell on the uneven sidewalk and the cab driver got away. If that is what I have to deal with here, it's s huge upgrade. Lol. I am used to police helicopters over my neighborhood at least twice a month with the searchlights on. Circling and circling and often with the speaker (forget what it's called) on, instructing the perp to get out of the house or surrender. It's nice here. Lol I'm lactose intolerant so you will have to eat a Philly cheese steak sammich for me
Awesome. Glad you're in a good neighborhood. I've driven near Chestnut Hill a few times when driving from Philly to NJ via local roads. Are you commuting into Center City? When I left NYC, it was also important for me to go to a decent area in the DC area. My feeling was that I grew up in the hood (Bronx, NY), and although I was able to move to better areas as a young adult... I was still longing for an affordable area in the 'burbs. Sorry to hear you're lactose intolerant. I'm like the only one in my immediate family who can eat all the dairy I want, and I'm so thankful. One of my buddies has it so badly that he gets his cheesesteak without cheese.
I have lived in so many not safe areas in my 20 years in the US: Third Ward in Houston ( mind you. I'm proud of that. So many famous people came from there), then Rainier Beach in Seattle and then "the Jungle" and then between Norwalk and Compton in LA, this is a cake walk I really love it here and I am hearing birds I haven't heard in 20 years!!!!! I love the chilly spring evenings here. Yes, I can cheat, but a full on Philly cheese steak sammich will not be a good thing so I come with you but get one like your buddy
Oh OK. I always say that in terms of living in bad area... I've paid my dues, and it looks like you have too. Like in your experience, the hovering police helicopters were regular, then just being in areas where many don't care about their neighborhood. I go back to NY regularly, as my Mom still lives there. I still do miss it, but I absolutely don't miss living there. I especially miss that NYC is always going, and every time I ride the DC metrorail... I really miss the NYC transit system as they really have most of the city covered by subway, bus or both. On the others hand... I don't miss the motorsit experience. It's hard owning a car in NYC, and the whole street parking hassle. I've only lived here (Rockville, MD) which is just north of Wash DC, and my native NYC. I'll have to get yu the cheesesteak without the cheese on my next run. I also found a spot with awesome pretzels in south Philly. I just love that city.
Geek, pleased you moved to the East Coast. Hope you got your winter gear and other items when the snow arrives.
