i was woken this morning at 6.30am by my little man singing happy mothers day (think happy birthday) and then he gave me a great big sloppy kiss. he then woke his sister and they gave me the presents they purchased at the school mothers day stall and one they bought together...the latest black eyed peas cd (my daughter's favorite band...guess who chose the cd). i've been promised breakfast in bed, though i'm out of it...and they've both promised to do as i say as soon as i say it (laughs out loud)

As I said before, I'm just as fortunate to have her for a daughter. I tell her all the time how happy I am that she chose me to be her Mom. :smt023

I took my daughter for lunch yesterday as she has to work today as it is her first Mother's Day. Today my son and boyfriend are taking me for dinner in the North End to my favorite Italian place

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,

To all the women here, I want to wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day. It's rare that women get the recognition they deserve, and to be frank, a mother should be celebrated 365. It's only natural that we do this because without moms in our lives, we wouldn't understand the power of love and balance.

Aw, thanks for thinking of me Arch, but like Booky said, I'm not a mommy yet. I look forward to it one day though.
I bought my mom a bunch of stuff today and it was great and she loved it. I mentioned that I might not be able to because I didn't know how I was going to get transportation, but I lucked out and got to spoil her and she was all surprised
. Her birthday's the 27th of this month so I'm going to get her more stuff then!! Yay!! :mrgreen:
