Abortion: Pro-choice but my personal beliefs do not support abortion. I do not support late term abortions

Gay rights: I believe marriage is between a man and a woman

Affirmative Action: I believe in equal employment opportunity to not discriminate based on race. But I don't believe there needs to be hiring quotas to hit a certain number of minorities.

Creationism/Intelligent Design: I would like to see it taught in schools, but I think they will uphold the separation of church & state. But parents have the opportunity to place their kids in private school and take them to church so they get that foundation.

Taxes: I am a fiscal conservative. I believe in lower, flatter tax rates for individuals and corporations. I believe we should eliminate capital gains taxes to encourage people to invest their money.

Health-Care: I would eliminate Medicare as a single-payer health care program, and replace it with a series of means-tested vouchers that seniors would use to purchase health care on the private insurance market (in structure, it's similar to the Affordable Care Act). For Medicaid -- which mostly provides health insurance for poor children and long-term care for seniors -- Ryan would eliminate federal guidelines for the program in favor of no-strings-attached block grants to states.

Social Security: Allow seniors 55 and older already on social security continue to receive their benefits. Allow those younger individuals choose whether they want to put money into social security or a retirement savings account.

Net Neutrality: I believe in an open internet

Gun Rights/Gun Control: I believe the gun laws in place are fine

Prayer in Public School: Not mandatory, but optional to those who want to pray.

War: National security is always a tough issue. I believe that unfortunately war is a necessary part of protecting a nation. Nobody wants to have our soldiers sent to battle, but we need them to protect our freedoms.

Global Warming: It is a real thing, but I'm not sure it is "sky is falling" situation. I think we should generally be more eco-conscious.

1. Do you keep up with politics? Yes, on a daily basis

2. Who do feel is the best President of the United States? I will vote for Romney in the 2012 election. Don't know if he can solve every problem, but I think he can solve our economic crisis.

3. How did you come to your conclusions on what's best for the times and country? I think people vote on issues most important to them. I typically vote with my pocket book. Whatever puts me in the best position financially to support my family.

4. Ever thought about getting into politics? If so, what positions would you like to pursue? I've never actively looked into politics and I don't think I would be cut out for it. But I would possibly be apart of my local community board if the right position arises.

5. Which politician would you like to meet? I don't really care to meet any of them.

6. Which politician do you hate the most? I don't particularly hate any politician. If they just differ on policies then I don't have a problem with that. I would have a problem with a politician who does something illegal while in office or something that hurts the people he represents.

7. Do you see a positive future or a not so positive future for the United States? I think the United States has a bright outlook. I think economic downturns are cyclical and we'll come out of it.

Abortion: Pro-Choice. The government has no business telling women what they can and can't do in regards to their reproductive organs. Stay out of their vaginas and doctor's offices.

Gay rights: I believe in marriage equality. Don't like gay marriage, then don't marry the same gender. Same goes for people who have a problem with interracial marriage. If gays getting married somehow affects YOUR marriage, your marriage is probably fucked up anyway.

Affirmative Action: Definitely a necessity. Seeing how even with affirmative action our unemployment rate is double and in some demographics damn near triple that of Whites, even among college educated Blacks, not sure what the complaining is all about. I don't see anyone whining about legacies (ie: George Bush, John Mccain, mostly white people) either. Would be nice to see it become unnecessary one day but it's never going to happen.


Creationism/Intelligent Design: If you mean in regards to public schools learn that crap in church or Sunday school.

Taxes: Necessary. I wouldn't even mind them increasing taxes if half our tax dollars didn't go to defense, and we got more bang for our buck like you see in other Western nations. Unfortunately our government wastes a lot of money and seem to have this mentality that lower taxes on the rich and corporations will stimulate job growth and the economy even though that's never happened and still isn't happening.

Health-Care: We're the only industrialized western nation who doesn't provide health care to all of it's citizens. We pay the most money for health care in the world yet still rank 37th in quality of care. We're behind behind Japan, most Western European countries, Scandinavia, Canada, and several Middle Eastern nations. We make it illegal for our citizens to purchase medications from other countries because god forbid we hurt the pharmaceutical industry's profit margin. So instead of paying a few dollars for my anti-hypertensive medication like I could if I lived in Canada, I have to pay $485 for every refill to prevent a stroke or kidney damage. And most Americans are too proud/ignorant to want to change our system.

Social Security: Entitled. You pay into it.

Net Neutrality: All for it.

Gun Rights/Gun Control: I'd favor more gun laws, but America loves it's guns too much for any real effective change and politicians sure aren't going to piss off the NRA and gun nuts. We have more guns in this country than people, so gun control is extremely hard to implement anyway.

Prayer in Public School: No. It's called the first amendment/Establishment clause. You can't pick and choose what parts of the constitution you're going to wax idiotic about and which ones you'll conveniently ignore because you love your sky daddy. You want to pray in school? Go right ahead. Nothing wrong with that at all. But state or government sanctioned prayer? Illegal and unconstitutional.

War: Pretty much every war we've been involved in Post-WW2 has been stupid, unnecessary or our fault. Most are avoidable.

Global Warming: Very real and very serious. Unfortunately this country seems to have a very low opinion of science in general. Which is probably why developed and developing countries around the world, especially their children, are kicking the crap out of us when it comes down to science.

Do you keep up with politics? Why or Why not? Daily. At this point I'm not even sure. I'm hoping to be out of this country by 2018.

Who do feel is the best President of the United States? The question is too subjective. A lot had their good qualities and faults.

How did you come to your conclusions on what's best for the times and country? Learning about history, how other countries and cultures work, and how America never seems to learn from it's mistakes.

Ever thought about getting into politics? If so, what positions would you like to pursue? I'm an atheist. I wouldn't be elected to political office even if I wanted to run for it.

Which politician would you like to meet? And why? None.

Which politician do you hate the most? And why? Too broad of a question. I dislike plenty of them.

Do you see a positive future or a not so positive future for the United States? Why or why not? I think America's best days are behind her. Unfortunately too many Americans are too proud, arrogant, ignorant, stubborn and propaganda driven to realize it let alone make any productive/significant changes to improve it. This country is a sinking ship and unfortunately Blacks are down in the cargo hold damn near oblivious.

Affirmative Action: In an ideal world the most qualified person should get the job regardless of skin color. However unfortunately in America this is often not the case. Im for affirmative action right now in spite of the flaws to prevent racist employers from abusing it. Though honestly if someone was hiring me just to furfill their AA quota I honestly would not want to work for them.

Creationism/Intelligent Design: There is no science in religion whatsoever. They have no place in public schools.

Taxes: I am for a tax system where the people when paying taxes decide where their money goes. Also a flat tax where everyone pays the same percentile of their income.

Health-Care: Full universal Healthcare for US citizens

Social Security: Entitled to it when I retire.

Net Neutrality: Pro Net Neutrality

Gun Rights/Gun Control: I honestly am highly in favor of the right to own a firearm, and defend ones home. Honestly if someone breaks into your house why wait forever defenseless when you can use your gun?

Prayer in Public School: No if students want to pray in public school they have recess or lunch to do it in.

War: Should be only waged if we are actually attacked by another nation. Waging a "war on terror" is as pointless as waging a war on drugs.

Drugs- Legalize Marijuana

Immigration- No Tolerance for illegal immigration whatsoever. heavy fines, and prison time for employers that hire them.

Gay rights: Gays deserve equal mutual respect and same conditions under the law as everyone else

Affirmative Action: This is too long to get in to. Instead of AA why don’t we enforce Brown vs Board of Education…make sure ALL children have same access to education…and healthcare while we at it.lol….maybe then we don’t need AA

Creationism/Intelligent Design: I believe God created the universe….but I also believe the big bang, evolution, all occurred….how God did it is not important to me. Also…it is my BELIEF that God did it and its not random. I have no facts and no ego about people that feel otherwise. Facts are facts…and fact is, no one can prove God did anything.

Taxes: How the fuck are we going to pay for the dumb shit that we feel either deserve or feel entitled too?

Health-Care: Why not a combination? That way all are covered?

Social Security: I think those that work hard for 25-30 years deserve it

Anyone without a mental illness or violent criminal background can have one….but not if they live with someone with same conditions. And we don’t need automatic weapons. 1. Do you keep up with politics? Yes, because it affects our daily lives and those around us far more deeply than we think. Often regimes esp. evil arises because people are complacent and ill equipped, ill witted. Reminds me of a Bible scripture “My people suffer for lack of knowledge”-Hosea 4:6

2. Who do feel is the best President of the United States? Between FDR and Eisenhower and Lincoln. I would write a book on why but in gist..lincoln freed the slaves..sort of….FDR fought two wars in Europe/Pacific, along with Great Depression, and changed middle class/poor conditions for generations. Eisenhower help lead allies to victory in Europe, He then instituted highways, helped desegregate schools (although unknown if he even cared), poured funding into education, cut taxes to the rich because back then it was way high….(his party has went nuts with that since) AND in leaving he warned of the industrial military complex.

3. How did you come to your conclusions on what's best for the times and country? I don’t know shit. I have some good ideas but it may or may not work….I know what’s WRONG for sure!! Class inequality, Race/gender/Sexual orientation discrimination, a 2 party system bought by corporations, corporations as fucking people, please

4. Ever thought about getting into politics? If so, what positions would you like to pursue? I am getting 2nd Masters in Political Science. I am thinking of being a consultant or maybe lobbyist?

Gay rights: Yes,all for it.They should be allowed to adopt,get married and be given the same benefits as heterosexual couples in my opinion.

Affirmative Action: Instead of Affirmative Action it would be better to create more equal possibilities for everyone and not judge based on ethnic background

Creationism/Intelligent Design: Personally I believe things that aren't proven should not be discussed in science classes.

Taxes: If they are used for causes that benefit the people in a country and help create more equality ,then I am all for taxes.

Health-Care: Universal health-care through government would be helpful to many who otherwise wouldn't be able to have any health-care.

Social Security: After doing hard work for a long time,I think people do deserve it. At some point,especially for jobs that are very demanding physically,it is simply not possible to work until the age of 80.

Gun Rights/Gun Control: Gun Control. Make it tougher to get guns. May not solve all the problems ,but at least prevent some issues.

Prayer in Public School: No,prayers don't belong in school or work. If one wants to pray,they can easily do that at home or church.
Kids,who do not share the same belief as the majority of the class,may feel left out,or be teased and pressured by their classmates.
That can do some damage to a child.

War: Sometimes it may be necessary.Other times it could be avoided.

Global Warming: Not a science expert,but it seems to be real to me. Maybe try to find ways to prevent it from getting worse would be a good idea.

Barely. It is not my main field of interest.

Based on my little knowledge on what each President has done,this is tough for me to answer.
Any president who has tried to help the lower class population, attempted to bring more equality among people of different racial backgrounds and done his best to not run the country into financial ruin,is a good politician in my book.


3. How did you come to your conclusions on what's best for the times and country?
Less religion based, more equality for same-gender relationships,not overspending financially when the economy is bad,however not saving on the wrong ends (e.g. education) either.

Nope,I rather stick to the field I am in now.

Not really interested in meeting any of them.

Generally not a fan of dictators,but none specifically sticks out.

It's all in the stars.Things could turn for the better or for the worse.
It depends on the decisions that are made by the people who have a lot to say,and also on what is going on in the rest of the world,as these days global connections do play quite a role.
