So basically you're one of the folks expecting too much. lol
Of course they're going to feed that beast; otherwise they wouldn't have included any IR in the first place. It's not like they really do it to be more inclusive and promote diversity or representation for IR folks. lol Their primary goal is to create TV drama, so why would they use anything else to create controversy when they already know what works without fail?
Of course they hype it up, because the audience predictably falls for it every time. They know how to play the gullible folks who watch this garbage, regardless of whether it's a "bachelor" or "bachelorette" as the main character. They know who'll whine if it's a black bachelor "dating" IR, and they also know who will whine about how "unfair" it is when compared to a black bachelorette doing the same thing. The networks know what they're doing, and there's no incentive to change the formula when they already have one that works so well. That's the nature of the beast, and they're going to keep feeding that beast what they know will sustain it. And they have the audience to thank for the never-ending supply of "food".
All the complaints bring to mind the saying about insanity: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." Always watching (and complaining about) the same things & expecting it to make some kind of difference is crazy, and serves no real purpose. When folks support this garbage by watching it and allowing themselves to be played by getting all worked up and taking it too seriously, they become part of the problem they're complaining about. "Reality" TV is not that deep, yet some folks keep responding to it as though it is. The goal for the networks is good TV, and for them the more drama the better.
If someone has an issue with the kind of crap these shows promote, the best thing to do is quit supporting it by not watching it. Just my opinion of course, but folks need to quit looking to the media to support and/or promote IR and focus on REAL LIFE. The best representation there is for IR couples/families is those of us in them just doing our thing and not giving a damn who does or doesn't approve. We don't need validation from the media or anyone else, because we don't have anything to prove to anyone. We should all be too busy being happy and living our lives to bother giving a damn about the input of people whose opinions don't matter. Life is too damn short for that shit.
