Good for him. I'm sure the constant scrutiny of his personal choices gets tiring. And how lame is it that someone would predicate their enjoyment of a musician on who he chooses to have a non-musical relationship with?

That concept of art is not even registering with the types who think like this.

Maxwell is a commodity, they are consumers. This is a racialized country and Maxwell's music is "black" as is most of his female fanbase; so the tacit arrangement is that he appeals to their fancies. They don't like seeing black men, (particularly attractive and famous ones) fawning over white women.

Now, I think Maxwell has lost his looks and really most of the ppl checking for him are the black chicks who were in love with him 10+ years ago (and then there's that whole gay thing).

You can't tell these type of black women that there almighty purchasing power doesn't move mountains though, lol, they are always quick to tell a famous brother how they are ready to take money out his pocket when he steps out of line.

You're telling the truth. I never expect any female singer to either sleep with a guy who looks like me or I will not buy her records. That's ludicrous. So they really aren't checking for his music, they want to fantasize that he's their boyfriend. Is this a teenage fan club we're talking about? Smh.

yeah. It's most likely fan girl shit, not to say they don't like the music too, but you know some of the chicks act no.1 fan status and all they have is the greatest hits.

I understand Maxwell's anger though. It's one thing with a partner, but I've been in the company with attractive white female friends and have had black ppl act like I was having an IR orgy in their face. Friends shouldn't have to be subjected to that ignorance.
