I tend to doubt that. I suppose he's less likely to attract a young film star than a young tv star, but most women with a pulse are going to realize how attractive he is, and his intelligence and talent are also going to be noticed - along with his success.

Frederick has a point. Just take a look at how many non black women that are stars in the industry that date black guys. Its self explanantory, american white starlets almost never date black men. I gaurantee you he will never get with scarlett johanssen, sandra bullock, kristen kavallari, eva mendes, jennifer lopez who is all believe to be on the market right now. GAURANTEE IT!
But on the brightside the beauties he have been with, he probably aint losing any sleep over that. European women showing blackguys love is just proof that american starlets are overrated and overhyped. Because brothas be getting some beautiful women regardless.

That's what I'm talking about. Brothers need to look past these American broads. There are women out there who actually appreciate us. This was my only point in this thread. Brother Mehcad is doing his thing, and he certainly doesn't need any pity from anybody.

1)Of course the odds are against those women dating him. They only make up FIVE of the billions of women on Earth. How can the odds of such a hookup be anything but low with those numbers?
2)Two of those ladies aren't white so are you expanding your criteria to be more than just white American actresses?
3)Odds are he won't be dating Zoe Salanda, Halle Berry, Paula Patton, Zoe Kravitz and any of Quincy Jones' daughters either (admittedly a couple are already married). So do you want to extend the off-limit definition as including black actresses too.
4)If this hookup with Mehcad is true then he must have recently ended a a relatively long relationship with a young, white starlet (Serinda from "Breakout Kings"). Who knows how big she'll get. She may be the next Megan Fox. Wait. She's Canadian so she doesn't count. Never mind.
5)It would be a step down for him to date Cavallari who is simply a reality star bimbo. If Kim Kardashian can't get top level stars (black or otherwise) to date her, why would you put Cavallari on such a pedestal? Who gives a fuck about her?
Okay let me get to more of the true meat of the matter. Warning: here comes a long rant.
The problem, if this is a problem, lies not just with white American actresses but with black male celebs in general. First of all how many black male celebs are such standouts in the looks department that they are considered to be sexy or sex symbols outside of their own (black) community? I mean really good-looking guys such as a young Denzel, a young Billy Dee Williams, a young Blair Underwood? Don't throw any lame names at me like Mekhi Phifer, Omar Epps, Lance Gross or anything like that. Don't also toss me out some commercial ads actor like the Old Spice Guy. White female celebs may publicly mention his sex appeal but at the end of the day he is still a former athlete-turned ad pitchman who is trying to make a name for himself at this point on the C or possibly B list of Hollywood. Truth is there aren't many true so-called black hunks getting work. White Hollywood has rarely had use for them and black Hollywood doesn't seem to have any interest in them either. In fact black Hollywood for some reason keep choosing brothas who are bald or who limit themselves to the shaved head look. Outside of a couple of guys such as Taye Diggs that look doesn't translate sex appeal to most women outside of the black community, at least not when it comes to the ideal man they want to see on the screen. So whether we are talking about film, TV or the music industry the pool of "desirable black men" is very shallow.
The entertainment industry is not in the business of creating black male sex symbols. There have never been many black male teen idols for women outside of the black community to put as posters up on their walls. These days there aren’t many for the black girls to choose from either (does anyone care that young black girls, such as Obama’s daughters, are more likely to have crushes on the Jonas Brothers, Bieber or the guys from Twilight? How uncomfortable would white America be if its young girls were mostly bombarded with the images of appealing-looking black males?). There aren’t many black men given sexy roles for the big screen, especially not in major motion pictures . Think about the last time you can recall a black man’s body being intentionally objectified in a major motion picture to create a “sexual” reaction from the audience. You don’t have to be gay to notice this situation hardly ever occurs. White men get love interests and sex scenes on a regular basis. Black men do not. For black men to enter the consciousness of more non-black women as desirable mates, those women have to first be better exposed to black men being presented in such desirable ways. But whether it is TV, movies, music, books (such as romantic novels), black men are barely ever featured in that type of way. They aren’t featured either on the cover of men’s magazines, ala GQ, as suave and debonair for all the world to see. It irks me that when I read comments from white females (celebrity or not) who are listing sexy celebrities, typically the only black names they mention are of black women. These white women will bring up Beyonce, Rhiana or some black actress, but most of the times not a black male. Isn’t that strange for heterosexual women to do that? Not in this case because again look how black men are presented (or not presented) in the various forms of the media.
In my opinion a white female celeb could just as easily find a better looking black man who works in the real world than she could find one who works in the industry in front of the camera. But if a female celeb is gonna to date an average Joe she will likely choose one who is very successful in his field of business. An elite doctor, a top flight businessman, an accountant. Studies will show that black males are more likely to go to jail than they are to be at the top of any field/industry they work in (sports and music not included). Or how about a man who works in the industry but is behind the scenes such as a producer, a director, a studio executive, etc? Well, not too many black men can be find in those fields and even less of them end up being the successful types that end up working with the top white actresses.
You see where I'm going? For black men to be possible romantic candidates for more white American actresses they would have to interact more with these actresses. Does that really happen? It doesn't seem so. Think about all the hookups that occur between actors and actresses who appear in the same movies and shows. Even if they aren't paired as a love interests (although it helps if they are), these actors and actresses often choose who they date from the pool of people they work most closely with. It makes sense considering they spend most of their days on a set. Now think about it. How many white actresses share scenes with black actors? I'm not simply asking how many play the love interest of a black man (which is rare as we all know); I'm asking how many share any scenes of consequence with a black actor. The type of long scenes that allow them to get to know one another more personally in between takes?
And it is not just the limited onscreen interaction between black men and white women. What about off-screen? Do they travel in the same circles, go to the same type of events, are drawn to similar activities? We know that in America there is an unspoken segregation that still exists between whites and blacks, and the insidious thing about it is that it is intentionally, if unconsciously, practiced by both groups. So a person may not move to THAT neighborhood, may not go to THAT club, won’t be hanging out at THAT party even if invited. If that happens amongst blacks and whites who live in the “real world” why would it be much different to blacks and whites who work in the entertainment industry? That lack of interaction limits the possible hookups that could occur between black male celebs and white female celebs. It limits such hookups between white male celebs and black female celebs too.

So you have black men who aren’t portrayed in a favorable light by the media, who aren’t paired alongside white women in any significant way for the most part alongside white ladies, who, proportionally speaking, don’t hang out in the same places as white ladies and, considering the unemployment numbers and the blue collar jobs, are often not in the position to interact with white females through their field of work. So can anyone be surprised then that there aren’t many white American actresses particularly high-profile ones, who date black men? And when you add on of course the racial history/baggage of this nation that makes it less acceptable by the general public for a white American female celeb to date a black man than it would be for a white female in England to date a black man DESPITE the fact there is and always has been a greater black presence in America than there has been in Europe, well, you get the picture. There are a slew of obstacles.
With that said there’s another factor that must be addressed which is not touched upon enough if at all on these boards. What fault of al of this lies in the hands of black men in America. Years ago I would read remarks on this board and others by black men who wondered how an “ugly” guy like Seal could date all those attractive white female stars. I had a response which I will bring up again: Seal has game. Not that Lil Wayne bullshit swag, I mean REAL game. Seal had the type of game that allows him to get into the beds of starlets and supermodels. Guys like Lil Wayne had the type of approach that drew video hoes. Huge difference. That gangsta approach may work from time to time with some hot white chicks but mostly as a one night stand type of deal. It ain’t gonna work for the most part when trying to get a real relationship going, one that is public. It won’t work with many black women, especially those that are the most educated. It certainly won’t work with most white ladies, especially if they are hot actresses who have countless options.
This may surprise some of you but most white women, at least not the ones that we make a fuss about on these boards, don’t care for gangsta rap. They may listen to it from time to time, but they aren’t likely going stock up on the CDs or go to the concerts. Most white women don’t care for men who talk street. They don’t find it sexy, they don’t see the constant references of “bitch”, “nigga” or any other expletive as a sexual turn on. Women do like bad boys but white ladies do still prefer to have their bad boys able to speak coherent English. The “high level” white women, whether they be gorgeous attorneys, knockout secretaries who work for powerful individuals, glamorous super models who have seen the world, desirable Hollywood actresses who have world-wide followings, sexy singers, attractive journalists, etc., tend to be attracted to men with a brain. Unlike men, women do find intelligence a highly attractive asset when looking for a mate. Unfortunately black men in America not only wallow in ignorance they celebrate it. Keeping it real and all that nonsense. Are enough black men intellectually curious? Not enough based upon the books the black community reads (and to be blunt the bulk of the reading is done by black women since we black guys apparently don’t like to read), the TV shows we watch, our fields of interest our hobbies. We put ourselves in a box. Go mountain climbing? Hell, no. That’s for white folks, no black people do that. Go see an independent film or documentary about coal-mining in West Virginia. I ain’t interested in that shit, what that gotta do with black people. Try reading a best-selling Thomas Friedman book about 21st century globalization? Fuck that, that’s boring; I hate reading anyway.
Look, if we want to keep it real then let’s keep it real. Why would the top tier white women date or marry a black man when she has so many other choices? It’s not just that she would deal with less ingrained bigotry from society, she actually has other options. For example she can marry a successful Indian man. Hell, considering Asians are likely to live in the same neighborhoods, go to the same schools, work in the same jobs and interact in the same circles of the more prosperous white communities than black people, why do we get outraged that more white actresses aren’t going out with black guys?
Plus consider the view of black men that is out there. We are viewed by many as a group that is too prone to violence, too often unemployable, too lacking in education, too likely to end up in jail, too willing to make babies without providing for them. Some of that is fair, some is not. But it is out there. What is also is out there is the image of rude, punk-ass black thugs wearing their jeans low and as a pack walking into public locations cursing up a storm. That’s not all of us but there is far too many of us out there like that and that creates a negative impression. I read a comment on a YouTube video of John Legend a year ago. The vid was one of those smooth songs Legend is known for. A woman posted in the comments that if more black men were like John Legend she would date them. I didn’t know what the race this woman was but my first reaction was to say “fuck off” to her. But I thought about it and while she was indeed stereotyping and painting the whole black male species with too broad a brush, I could at least understand where she was coming from. Again that is the image of us out there and often it is us who help perpetuate it. Black males often cringe when it comes to guys like John Legend. He’s too “soft”. He doesn’t sing/rap about beating some nigga down or fucking some bitch in a club. He brings a more romantic approach, a more intellectual approach. Like Seal he writes songs and carries himself in a way to woo female fans all across the racial spectrum with his melodies of love and heartache. And I don’t mean Trey Songz type of “love: either (although I’ll I like some of his work too).
However many black men like that more profane, hard, gangsta approach. Some gals may be turned on by that while in high school or college when seeking a thrill. But when they are out of college and have grown up they tend to look for men who have grown up as well. This happens with black women too so why shouldn’t we expect it to happen with white women? It has been reported for some time that black women have a hard time finding a mate because there are far more college educated black women with solid jobs than there are black men. Well, that disparity only gets greater when you compare white women to black men on that front. This isn’t rocket science. Black men help take themselves out of the running. As a result you end up with a lot of white female celebs whose only instance of choosing a black male came when they voted for Obama for President (not including Cavallari who voted for McCain).
Nonetheless despite all of this, despite al of that against us, black men still manage to still get their share of the fine women out there, regardless of race. Just think what we could do if more things were going in our favor and we collectively had our act more together.
And if I making it seem as if black men are the only ones who have to change their approach rather than addressing what white women have to do, my defense is that it is we black men on this board who are bemoaning this issue. So that’s why I’m exclusively addressing our faults.

Brooks has also stated that his favorite show is the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. If you don’t know who she is Google her. Point is that this cat is the type of guy who seems he can step into the world of white people (in this case white women) and not only co-exist with them comfortably but speak their language so to speak. That may not have allowed him to pull a Megan Fox so far (if that is anyone’s high standard), but at least it helps put him in contention.

Hell of a rant, Jamal, and I'd rep you if I could because I think a lot of what you said is exactly on point.
And I'll say that probably the first black celebrity I had a crush on was Billy Dee Williams back in the day. Lord, that man was fine.
Mechad Brooks is on Twitter, and comes across as very intelligent, extremely well educated and intellectually curious. THAT combined with his obvious good looks is why I think he could pretty much be successful with any woman who is remotely open to dating a BM. He's got "game" as you put it.
