It was always strange to me how in the years following 9/11, wearing beards in the U.S. became trendy.

Facial hair is a sign of piety in the Muslim world.
I wonder what they think of so many American men looking like devout Muslims???lol

My brother brought up something about beards and Muslims a few months ago. He said Assad, the leader of Iran, is clean-shaven...

Bashir Assad, the leader of Syria, is clean shaven.


Hassan Rouhani, the President of Iran, has a beard.

To me it's still a bizarre trend.
It would be like that little Hitler mustache becoming popular after WW2.:butthead:

Oops. Yeah, I meant Syria, but the sentiment is the same. Everyone is trying to get rid of the guy but maybe he's not as bad as others?
