She went on FB and was thinking of friending the guy she was talking to and his marital status on his FB page said married. Quite a shock for her since he never said that he was or ever had been married. So she was going to confront him about it to find out what was up.

We went beyond talking, he was here a week and a half ago. On the site where we met, he was listed as single, and never once indicated that he wasn't. In fact he talked about having me to his place (which is in the woods) for a weekend.

I sent him an email. I was quite nice about it, told him I don't play with married men, and reminded him what he was going to be missing out on (we'd discussed some interesting erm...activities). I know he doesn't check his email often, so I don't know if he got it yet, but I haven't heard from him.

Damned shame, I *liked* him as a person, and the sex was mind bogglingly good, definitely one of the top ten experiences I've ever had. . But I don't play with married men, I don't need the drama, and it's not in my character to do that. If I'd known he was married, I'd never have slept with him. I detest being lied to, even by omission. It's probably the single worst mistake any man can make with me. NEVER lie to me - I'll cut you off so fast your head will spin.

I don't understand what's to gain in going after a woman who clearly states she doesn't want married men, why not just pick someone who is ok with that?

That's a shame, Pixie. I'm sorry to hear about this. Do you think that if he did get it, he would have responded? I think some men are too cowardly once they're caught to bother responding.

I don't honestly know, because clearly he's not who I thought he was. We were really pretty compatible, and I thought this was going to be a great FWB thing. We had as much fun talking that day as having sex (well, almost), and we've had lots of long interesting conversations. He really was potentially a good friend. I had told him an ex of mine is moving out here and might be staying with me for a bit, and he was a bit concerned - asked me straight out if I'd sleep with the ex, and indicated that if he thought that was a possibility, he'd want me to come stay with him while the ex was here.

WTF, yanno??

Of course I knew it went beyond just talking. I just stuck to the basics and wasn't trying to put all of your buisness out there for those who might not be in the know. Better for you to put out the details first hand.


Ego would be the best guess as to why he possibly did it. And if you're going to be snake and be the cheating type you would think at the very least one would be smart enough not to have a Facebook page or have your marital status posted on it. What's up with that? :smt017

Ra, if you're facebook savvy enough, you can show your marital status to only a select few (i.e your wife, in laws, etc.), and set it so that anyone who isn't in a particular social circle doesn't see your marital status at all, so it might appear you're single. I have a friend who's been with a girl for going on 6 years, and to most of us, it shows him as being in a relationship with *name of girl*. If we sign out and look him up as a stranger, it shows him as having no martial status, and any pictures of the two of them together don't show up. So, if I were say, a woman he picked up at the bar, he'd make sure that I only saw what he wanted me to see.

Nevermind that I yell at him every day for this behavior, the level he goes to are nothing short of amazing.

I don't have Facebook so I'm ignorant to what's what on it's workings. Nevermind the fact that if I personally would ever think about fucking over my marriage the last place I would try to hook up with anyone would be online. Too many unknowns & unexpected in the equation for my taste as Pixie's situation has illustrated.
