My brother has decided that he's moving to Florida by September, if he can find a job.

He wants my little one and I to move with him.

I've never been attached to places that are warm year round because my skin is very pale and I worry about skin cancer and because the bugs are so much bigger there. LOL. Not to mention the alligators.

I'm more of a move West to Colorado, Wyoming, or South Dakota kind of gal.

However, I do need to do some major overhauling in my life. This may be the opportunity I'm looking for. My daughter doesn't want to move to Florida, but then again, she's never been there. She may love it.

    It's something I'm considering semi-seriously.

The southern region is a major transition. Lol. I hope you enjoy!!! (If you decide to make that plunge)

That's huge! What a incredible change that could be for you! Living in year-round warm weather I can assure you putting on sunscreen just becomes second nature! I'm super pale and I burn pretty easily...I have those cans of spray sunscreen all over the house!

What an awesome opportunity if things pan out and you decide to go. Worst case, you don't like it and you move home. At least you won't have to deal with the what-ifs that would probably play over and over in your head :)

I agree about the bugs and the alligators btw. I'm a complete sissy when it comes to bugs...and well, alligators could eat me so that's a completely rational fear imo lol

We'd love you in Colorado but Florida might be a good change. Totally does take getting used to though. Good luck with whatever you choose to do! :freehug:

1.) FL has no state income tax. :) 2.) Miami seems to be the only real crime area. 3.)You are not in love with your job. I would say do it. It may not be your ideal but it is a state that you do not hate. So leave that rainy cloud behind you in Chicago.

Thanks everyone! It may require me bringing the little one to FL for a vacation for her to want to move there. Also, it depends on her Dad. Though I don't see him giving me much trouble in that regard, but she may not want to be that far away from her father either. Hmmm....

It's still in the preliminary stages of thinking about it. If it's a go, I'm sure I will be letting the forum know.

If you're talking to me, yes, the snow is finally gone for a few months. LOL. Damn, winter just didn't want to go away this year!!

If you are looking to overhaul your life and start a new, I say by all means, do what makes you and your daughter happy. It's tough when you have to consider the other parent and how to sort out custody. I may be doing the same thing in a few years...

As for Florida, it's nice. I think a vaca would be beneficial to help convince your daughter to relocate. I wouldn't let the fear of bigger bugs and alligators steer you clear of potentially moving to Florida.

Relocating to me is a huge decision, especially when you have to take into account what is best for your daughter as well. For me it is important to be near family but I am sure you will make the right decision what ever that may be. Good luck with it.
