While I have enjoyed being a member of this board for a number of years it is time to say farewell.

All of the back and forth negativity is too much for me.

Being called a "Pig" by FH was the final straw for me as well as the current gif posted that shows a "man" slapping a woman across the face makes me recognize that this is a place where there is not much respect for women.

I am well aware that many of the posters here are wonderful, funny, bright lovely people and I have enjoyed my interactions with you all.

However, I want to live my live in a positve way and there is just too much negativity here.

I know this post will be mocked by some as being overly emotional and that is fine. I posted it.....I own it.

I'm saddened that one of the cool people are leaving. :( I would not make fun of your post. There is definitely an atmosphere of disrespect towards ladies lately. I hope people see that it can be too stressful and they need to knock it off. Good luck. Tarshi has my info and I am going to ask her to give it to you so you can keep in touch now and then. You are level headed and wise beyond your age. No wonder people are quoting and looking to you for guidance. You had taken something horrible and tried to make a good ray come out of it somehow. I am sure other victims have been helped beyond words by you.

I love it. So lightweight and easy to carry around in my bag. Although my four year old son uses is more than I do. When I was four I had a damn yoyo and didn't even know how to work that yet he can work this?! :x

Yeah, there's a guy round the back of the chemist that sells em for £20 it says it's called Apfel but works the same :D lolol. Nah, I got the cheapest one, was £400, not sure how much that is in the US bur it's not excessive.

I was able to defray the cost because my mother, sisters and a friend all gave me gift certificates for my birthday. I still shouldn't have done it, but oh, well. I consider it "adaptive technology" since I can read ebooks on it. :-D

I have an ipod touch which to be is the same exact thing unless you ipad users know something I don't.
 
An observation

I notice that some posters don't seem to read an entire post or let the message sink in before they post a response. The nice thing about discussion forums is that you can read the written (& often unwritten message), let it sink in, let any negative emotions (if any) subside and then post a rational response with a clear head. You can make your point, even with great passion, without being rude, offensive or insensitive.

For a forum that is supposed to celebrate the relationship between black men and white women, there seems to be alot of anger, dislike and pettiness. SMH.

Petty, I"m a good bit older than you are. I've had more real life than I care to have had. But especially on an online forum, you can still get your point across with some modicum of decorum. Doesn't have to turn into a verbal brawl.
